2 discos and a hummer? Sounds like Winchfest '08.

I'd go, but my neices are here and I already backed out of going to Beaumont to spend time with them. What trails do you plan on running with two discos and a hummer?

Snakepit...it just sounds nasty...

If you make it into green acres, I would go to the backside of the mountain and run van alstyne. The switchbacks up there are pretty cool, Van Alstyne might have a few tighter spots but nothing impossible for the Hummer. It's also a pretty cool view from the top of the mountain. There are some ridiculous trails back there, but Van Alstyne would be about the speed you guys are looking for I would think.

Let's go to the lake instead. :)

We did those switchbacks in '06 and it was badass. You could see the town down below and they werent too hard. I think we were technically "lost" at the time but its probably the area you're talking about.

You go in and kind of stay to the left after you get into the creek bottom area. Then you go across a little clearing, then start up the switchbacks. Mike Green has dropped off maps he made at the A&A Motel. They are better than the map I drew of the place, but didn't help us out a whole lot. They did come with a Mike Green 4X4 sticker though, so that was cool.

that clearing is labeled as an airstrip on the map

that is going to be one hot biatch. get used to red boogers. the last time I was up there in the month of August you couldn't even see the truck in front of you the dust was so bad on the fire roads.

can't be any worse than the 4th. The lake you want to go to is the Potato Hills Park. Out of town like you're going to shorty's but on your left a mile or two out of town.

there were some ponds kinda by 3 stage IIRC where a lot of people camped. I would bring some heat though b/c nobody could hear your cry for help. It was in the sticks and the only reason we found it is b/c we got lost.

Just got back from kayaking in Broken Bow just about an hour East from you. Too bad I didn't see this on Friday.
