use a portaband. Thats what I use these days after trying tubing notchers, chop saw method, etc. One of those pipemasters help for figuring out where to cut, but even thats not really necessary after a little practice. Its so much easier and faster. I did all the notches on the 4runner that way

if I remember correctly, the tubing notcher was $27 dollars. The HF portaband is $60. Yeah, it isn't cheap, but its not that bad

As long as you have something super solid to anchor it to, a beercan to make shims out of, a slow drill with a big chuck and a warranty, and plenty of WD-40 you will be fine. I have become a firm believer in the chopsaw method though.

haha don't think I do. I am still amazed at how long and well it continued to run after the smoke started coming out...long after it got too hot to hold! :D

yeah, that was pretty funny. We were on a roll between that and you welding inside the cab of the truck in a wife beater, shorts, and sandals

Looks like a good way to break your wrist...

I got my tube notcher from midamericantools (same place as the bender), costs a little more but it has worked great.
