Anyone know how the fittings work on newer model fords. They are not the same slide in pronged plastic connectors that my jeep has. Anyone know?

they suck. I do not remember exactly, but after I broke the first ones, the oil change guy and I modified a traditional style clip to work.

I want to say you push down instead of pull out.

oh its those. get a pair of slip joint pliers and carefully squeeze as you pull outwards.

Yeah, carefully push the larger blue part in and work it off. if you take the front off first, the back is easy bc you can slide the filter itself forward in the bracket instead of forcing the hose back.

Ask sharpe, I have changed a few fuel filters. heh.

so its like the old style, but with the removal tool built in right?

You have to shave a little off the "legs" of a regular Ford clip, but it makes it easier for the future. But if you don't break the blue ones, just put them back.

That type actually comes off without coming out. But don't think that I didn't force the first one I came across out lickity split!

just changed it now and it was pretty easy, thanks seth, thats is a retarded design though. I definantly would have pulled them out instead of pushing them in.

you need the tool, it slides in then you pull the lines apart. Go get it at the auto parts store

not on that one, different design/type. i guess they wanted to eliminate the tool?
