Ok wow, most of those guys just can't fawkin drive. They were taking horrible lines on Whatever and Politician. On the two tough trails they showed, DeWoody and Weenie's World, The Big rigs were bouncing up them. I guess they were just itching to break something? Most of the trails they ran aren't nearly as hard as they looked...:confused2

Gilmer has many trails for stock and moderate vehicles. I ran most of them on a 2wd quad last time. It's a good trip for beginners. The more experienced can still have plenty of fun there.

FJAggie07
01-29-2009, 04:36 PM
^^^ I agree.

What's kinda cool with all the rain of the past year and a half, the trails are all rated about 1 over their posted rating. It has gotten increasingly more challenging as the rain has changed it.

B. I posted for the terrain = )

I agree there driving ability is questionable, but that is because they a certain state to the east, so don't hold it against them to much.

On a kinda related note, The catahoula offroad place on the right is real close to my dad's place. The area has always been called "the hills" I will have to check it out next time I go, should be redneck-tastic!

It looks like if you plop down $40 for an annual membership that covers you for the weekend and you will get discounted admission for the rest of the year.

they never check if mine is expired or not, just give them my card and they accept it as valid. Been like a year and a half since I renewed.

Robbie towing me with Morgan riding along.
Bryan and Ryan doing whatever it is they do
Adam (Monique coming?)
Rowdy thrown in the mix somewhere.
Meeting Chris and maybe wife up there.

Did I miss anyone? A new guy that signed up at the meeting said he wanted to go, I believe his name was Shawn. Blankenship, can you look up his email and send it to me so I can send him a reminder about the trip this afternoon? Thanks.

You have no clue, family business in nothing but Drama, and everything falls on you to get done the right way. 14 Hour days Friday through Sunday because the moving company we hired to move our office over the past weekend were idiots. How about learning how to Network an entire office when you have no clue what the hell is going on? How about installing a VOIP system in a little under 3 days, while managing to get every phone line forwarded to the right place in a little over 3 hours on Friday afternoon because your company is completely based off phones.

Family business's are tricky. I will say I am very thankful to have a job. But I question my judgement every now and then for turning down my two offers in Houston out of college. There is a lot more Drama when it comes down to a family business, and when your receptionist quits and your backup receptionists has a death in the family, all while you are moving, so along with everything else you have to pick up the slack of those two jobs, well somebody has to do the job and it seems **** rolls up hill at times.

[WARNING Soap Box end]

So need a job? I may be hiring soon. :gigem:

Well Yes to the movers. We saved quite a bit of money this route, but you get what you pay for. It sucked.

Network Specialists, well it actually went a lot more pain free than I expected. Just a lot of time consuming programming of individual things that just kept Amanda and I up here late.

No pirating here. :flipoff2:

Have a custom built Visual Basic front end that has to run on an Access 97 database back end. Due to our ****ty accounting links in that back end Access 2000 wouldn't work. Office 2000 was the last year of the open license for office products so that is the Word and Excel and Outlook everyone WAS using. Then Outlook 2000 had a problem of only being able to hold a 2 GB .pst file so I bought a lot of licenses of Outlook 2003 (which solved the .pst problem) so here we are. There you go FlemCo.:rainbow::flipoff2:

Had a real good time this past weekend out at Gilmer. Without my woman there I tried some stuff I normally wouldn't to see how the truck would take it. The pictures are all from other folks so they are still coming in.

My valiant attempt at Twister. It has been so dug out that I needed something just a little bit bigger than 33's to get the last leg up. Ended up needing just a little tug with the winch to get up the lats part.

To get a judge of the wall that Twister has become this was while I was scouting it...

And then spider's Ravine

http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f105/starranchjoker/Tacoma/DSC06482.jpg

Also I got to run Fun Country and it is a blast! I think we should seriously consider adopting this trail. There are three lines at the end that allow any vehicle to go up and still a challenge for anyone 37's and above. it is also a nice jaunt through the woods.
