Its almost that time again to take your anger from all those finals and bash it into some rocks in Clayton.

We will be doing most of our wheeling on some private property North of Clayton with easy, moderate, and hard, trails and even some trails that gaurantee body damage.

I would like a few suggestions regarding convenient times for departure

Most likely we will reserve rooms at the Sardis but for all you tough guys camping is also available. Here are a few places you can call

Sardis Inn 918 569 4101
AA Motel 918 569 4101
yes they both have the same number

Clayton Country Inn 918 569 4165

I highly recommend this trip to anyone in our club. We always seem to have alot of fun.

I highly recommend this trip to anyone in our club. We always seem to have alot of fun.

This translates to: we break alot of sh!t here!!!

The new land is great and there are still trails that we haven't done like the new 6+ trail that is the only trail that requires a winch for the FWD-FWD trailfests

There is stuff for everyone here and it is always challenging.

Dates for this trip?

Matt Conlee
11-19-2002, 07:59 PM
We will have a discussion at tomorrows meeting to decide the best dates and answer any questions about the trip.

Doug Krebs
11-20-2002, 12:41 AM
We had discussed right after finals, i e-mailed the president and VP of FWD-FWD to ask about land use, here is what he said:

Doug, I am going to copy Jason Helms in on this. As
far as I know there is not currently any type of run
going on that weekend at Mr. Frieling's land in
Clayton, but I will let Jason confirm that.

Depending on the number of people you are bringing we
will just have to determine what is that best way to
handle the fees for using the land. Basically, we
normally just ask groups to pay the $15 dollar per
weekend per vehicle fee to Mr. Frieling, but if there
is a substantially large group, we might get Mr.
Frieling to give you the $400 for the weekend event
fee to save you all a little cash. Like I said, kind
of depends on how many you will have.

Matt...Depending on the amount of people that go on this trip, we should look in to renting that cabin we all stayed in last time. It had a kitchenet and plenty of space to park rigs and trailers. Best of all split it was super cheap.

Suck it up, find $75 for fuel, food, and a room and get your lazy azz out there. You had driveshafts before, did you lose them? You might as well bend or brake them BEFORE you rerplace them.

did you add a t-case or just change the gears? - that would explain the driveshafts

I am leaving Thursday night, Higgs might leave Wednesday, Busa is leaving Friday

I'd love to go, and I am sure Higgs would love to help fix my Jeep again, but I am headed to the mountains for a bit o winter fun.

I could stop by but its not on the way and the Golden Bubble, shod with winter tires, is not much of a rockcrawler.

alright, dammit. I need another job and I really don't have the cash to go, but I'd rather go than stay here and try to work. I'll have you know this is really gonna hinder my family getting christmas presents. problem is I don't know if the stRanger needs to make the trip. if anyone happens to have a spot for her on a trailer, or just one I could borrow I might be able to get a tow rig for a few days. if not any open seat will suffice. just contact me one way or the other if you can help.

Yep, dual cases and a set of 4.7s. Jess at high angle is lengthening my front, as well as biulding me a new rear (he owes me a toy CV, so I figure its time to collect)

I want to go, I just don't know if its feasible. If I can get the driveshafts in time, and the rear axle rotated, I'll try to be there. Its just that I'm running low on time (and money of course). Believe me, Busa is already giving me a hard time for thinking about not going.

Hello Boys,
If you are going to Clayton, will you please send me an email, lynmildew@aol.com, with your name and passanger(if you have one). I also need your social security number, and the name and telephone number of someone to call in case of an emergency. Please don't leave out any information. This is posted and scheduled as a club trip so thats why i still need all your info. It also confirms who is going and keep tabs on everyone and their arrival times, ect. Gracias...
P.S. Everyone send me an email, don't assume I have your information, this is the easiest way for me so I dont' have to hunt around for social security numbers and names for a crowd of people. Thanks so much.

Clayton is going to KICK ASS, Jonathan Tate and flem and maybe Freds friend are going to ride with me and Fred, anyone not going will be judged likewise... I am calling you out suckas, mostly b/c I am inebriated, but also b/c I want to see a bunch of people out there. Money/nagging broken parts are no excuse. If your **** will pull onto a trailer, it needs to be in Clayton. RJ didn't let his/her rig sit at home because it had a few parts that were "untested." Fred also tore up some ****, and Troy trashed his tailshaft/driveshaft/third member all at one time, it was rumored that Jason Larman's caught on fire.... We even had a campfire low pressure gauge blow off, that Josh Alley can really blow. I'll post the rest tonight on my webpage.

I'm pretty sure Jason Hensel wins the award for body damage and fear factor. At the end of snake pit he was trying to go up a steep by-pass and lost traction, hit the brakes but they weren't working to well, then slid about 45 backwards and took out one large rotten tree. He continued the slide about another 10ft and stopped on a about a 12inch oak that tacoed his tailgate very nicely. He had also up-rooted the rotten tree's stump and that was stuck underneath his truck as well. Definately not a good situation, but no one got hurt, even though i might have wet my pants a little when the rotten tree came flying my way! Hope everyone gets home saftely. It was a great trip and a weekend off carnage!!!

got the truck back today. new clutch installed. the combination of snake pit, 3.55s and a two-year old centerforce (not recommended) made that possible. took a few more pics before I disassembled the piece of my truck formerly known as the tailgate. lots of cleaning. some brake work (a little too late apparently, I think I sealed my fate on this one after one too many comments on doug's EB using a tree to stop after brake failure... or it coulda been the curse the brunes put on me that morning... either way you all get a :flipoff2: ). still gotta see if I can bend the skidplate under my t-case back to what it was before I plowed over that first tree. the rest of the damage done by the second tree (not gonna cuss that tree too much because it stopped me from rolling into a creekbed full of large rocks) has yet to be addressed as I will leaving town again for my last stint of work over the break. it's a lot like working for brandon, except trees instead of grass (and of course it pays better :flipoff2: ). all for now.
