I'm bored, so I figured I'd start a project thread for my FSJ.

Its a 1973 Jeep J2000 Gladiator, with an AMC 258, T15, and Dana 20. Front axle is a closed knuckle D44, rear is also a D44. Besides needing the floorboards patched, and a little rust issue on the rear bed its fairly clean. Even the crappy cardboard glovebox was still intact.

Plans:
-Swap the drivetrain from my '74 J20 Parts truck over, which has a 360/T18/D20 with a D44HD front and D60 rear.
-SOA and run 36" HMMWV tires, or 6" lift and 35s..haven't decided yet.

As I got it:

After about 4 hours of cleaning random **** out of and off of it:

The J20, which is a pile.

I've been messing with the 360 this past week...hoping to get a bunch done over spring break.

Took about 6 hours today to remove the front clip off the J20, and the side skirts off the Gladiator. Every bolt is a damn battle...I need a torch. :(

I've fancied Gladiators in a while.

I have a cheep Map Gas Torch from sears that seems to do quite well for the money. Will cut and everything, for something like 50 bucks a couple of years ago.

***...yeah. It's actually not as packed as it looks, I just piled a lot of stuff in front of the garage door so the middle had a clear path. Plus there's quite a bit of trash that's getting hauled out sometime this week in there.

The parts washer thing was mostly due to the fact its about 4 foot from my gas water heater. :D
