JB, karl wanted to know what the facilities were like at Alto. I havent been there in like 5 yrs, but i remember they had showers back then. I thought i heard they had made some improvements since then.

DRAGOONRANCH

Yes, they have real showers and ****ters. It's no Motel 6-Raton, but it'll get the job done. :gigem:

JB
06-25-2009, 12:38 PM
The showers and toilets, expecially on a busy weekend like that, have lines and, at least to me, are pretty nasty. I go into town to poop and don't shower until I get home.

I am getting excited.

Jeremiah and his friend Bryan are coming from SA to my house on Thursday. We are going to work on Jeep/Bronco and get Bronco loaded. I am going to drive my ass to Mont ****ing Belvieu for work Friday morning while they stay at my house working on Jeep and getting it loaded. They will then head out sometime Friday. I will get off when I get off, head to Bryan, pick up Bronco turd, and drive to Alto, getting there hopefully before dark and 1/3 drunk.

If anyone one in BCS needs a place to wrench Thurs/Fri, let me know. Somebody will be at my house doing something. 7 miles out 21 from 6, rt on Opersteny, left on Coleman, last house on left.

speaking of, only carnage this weekend was the cell phone. Had mud almost to the windows a few times this weekend and all of the lucas junk didn't care, but cell phone that stayed dry and in the console most of the weekend is trashed.

Insurance is good, this week will mark treo #3 for the year.

cory- broke front yj spring... welded plate to it so he could limp around the mud pit, other 3 are either bent or s'd
me- carb issues but still ran almost all weekend, steering shaft popped out, laid on both sides, almost went endo 3 times on a hill climb (i need wheelbase), fried starter solenoid
karl- sterling yoke and pride
jb- stub shaft (while pulling me up hill)
jb's zj- beat to hell in general, destroyed front tire but still runs. can't seem to kill it
davido- sunk cousins 4wheeler and it floated for a while, may have bought it from his cousin in the end
david's tu friend- 4 wheeler wouldn't start
jeremiah's blazer(i think it was his)- rear 10 bolt exploded, its ok it was only on 44" ground hogs and it should have held...

Hey Colman I thought your jeep had tbi??? So how did you have carb issues??

JB
10-18-2009, 05:49 PM
I do not even know where to start. Bronco ran great all weekend. It's winch got a workout pulling lots of people out. I broke a 60 stub while winching Colman up a hill, with my tire close to full lock. I gave it a little gas in reverse and it popped, taking out the Warn hub and ****ing up the spindle threads. I got it all back together for some 3wd fun.

The ZJ can not be stopped. It constanlty pops out rears springs, and I lost a rear spacer, but it ran ALOT of miles out there and never got over 195. The interior smell like a bar. Is airing out now.

I saw titties. I saw ass. The Bronco had a prime location next to the Chevy with the stripper pole. I saw fights. I heard crazy stories from crazy rednecks. I drank alot of beer. Shiloh Ridge did not let me down. Work tomorrow willnot be fun.

All weekend long, if anyone was stuck, I would say, "hey you know why that guy is stuck?"

Oh and Katy's got some big ass tatties....

Short trip, but great time.

The short of it is that we were putting across some water that we both thought we had driven through about an hour previous. Evidently I missed it by a bit and rolled the ATV into a water hole, upside down. It died/turned itself off on the way over. But I did try to start it afterwards and it was no go. While towing it back to camp, the lights died also. Not a good thing. It's the nicest thing my cousin has and I promised him IBIB. Kevin and I both got completely soaked. Wallet, boots and all. Froze on the ride back to camp. Stripped down to skibbys and took the truck over to the showers. I didn't have another pair of boots, so thanks Coleman for the flip flops. It was cold last night!

The good news is that the ATV runs again. Corey and my neighbor were right. Sprayed it clean. Hit the electronic connections with WD40. Pulled the plugs. Sprayed WD40 inside. It did have a some water, so not good. Spray, crank and clear. Again. Check oil. Again. Again. Again. After a good flushing I put the plugs back in and after a few cranks it started right up. There was water in the tailpipe also, sprayed everywhere. Not only does that crap not come out of clothes, you can't wash it off your house either.

I had been checking the crankcase oil every couple of cranking cycles. Stayed clear until up until it briefly ran and then got milky. I caught it right after it started and shut it down. Drained the oil. Trying to find oil and a filter tomorrow. A few flushes of oil and filters and it should be fine. This according to my neighbor who is the Karl Crouch of motoguruness in the neighborhood. He's evidently done this several times with bikes and ATVs. So I'm hopeful.

I'll be breaking the news to my cousin tomorrow to see what he wants to do. I want to get it all done first so I know where I stand. It was so bad ass though, I was tempted to keep it anyway. Sick 800 HO power. Four wheel burnouts and fishtailing on tap. The only downside is cha-ching. We'll see.

My body got the beat down from just the few hours of intense riding that we did. Legs, arms, and back are all a little sore. Thanks JB for putting this together. It was great to finally meet some of the legendary Car Docs crew. Good guys. Good times. I forget how entertaining that place is. Good trail riding and GREAT people watching.

Make sure you change the diff fluids too, and if there's anything else that takes fluid.

All weekend long, if anyone was stuck, I would say, "hey you know why that guy is stuck?"

My answer, "He doesn't have TTB!"

Seriously, I broke a 1350 series yoke, and the TTB was up front just hanging out calling it a *****.

Oh and Katy's got some big ass tatties....

Karl, have you considered the idea of TTB for the REAR of Klogger?

Yeah, think about it.

John Brown: Yeah I broke a front 60 shaft
Karl: Hey, I know of this axle swap you should do to the front of that thing, it is pretty much the best thing ever, it's called TTB....

The problem is they do not make a reverse rotation for the TTB chunk. I have purchased a 1'X1'X6" piece of billet steel and am currently using a file to cut my own reverse cut gears. After that, it will pretty much be unbreakable.

**** that just flip a front chunk upside down. Put a fill plug at the very top of the housing so you can fill every bit of the diff with oil and call it good.

any large breasted woman is katy!

Chappelle show: "Katy's got some bigass tittaes!"

its much easier to say "hey is that katy" then "god damn flem look at the sweater puppies on that chick, she could feed an orphanage!"

I talked to the owner today. Two oil changes and two diesel flushes later, I think it's totally clean. Runs good. Sounds good. I'm bringing it back to him on Saturday with extra oil and a filter. I gave him the rundown on everything I did and he seems to think it will be fine also.

In other news, I talked to a guy at BVD today. He told me that he had a ThunderCat (1000CC Arctic Cat with cool name) stolen from his house. Cut two fences, broke into the garage, cut the chain and pushed it all the way back out to the highway. Crazy! What was more crazy is that he had $14,000 in that thing between purchase and suspension and tire upgrades and the insurance company is offering him $3500. That eats it!

He saw the Can-Am and started asking me about it. One cool thing about Can-Ams is that they have a chip in the key. Downside is the extra expense of the setup and the keys are $50. The upside is that if it gets disconnected and replaced with another key system, then the computer has to be reset by a dealer who requires ownership verification. He said that they're coming out with ones with GPS locating on them, like OnStar. Wild.

I was totally oblivious to the costs and issues with all of this stuff. I've never for once been concerned that someone would break into my garage to steal my Cruiser. :)

will it disable the atv when the owner misses payments?

ATV theft is real common. Usually they'll hit a couple people in the same area. We've been through a couple rounds in the Karnes City area. Don't let them sit out where they can be seen, ever. If they don't know you have it they won't steal it. Or just have junk.
