go to the junkyard and get another cherokee front shaft and cut it down

spares? you are going to need spare axleshafts before you need a spare driveshaft

you say that, however I have broken 2 rear driveshafts in the past year. One before a rear anti-wrap bar, I know that was stupid. The second at TCC when the rear tubes twisted and bent it sent the pinion skyward and bound the yokes.
