well, I've decided to get some new 33s and not sure about a few of my options since I'm trying to keep the bill cheap. Discount wants $156 for a 33" mud king (what?), so i'm gonna pass on that. Does anybody know much about General Grabber M/Ts of Dunlop Mud Rovers? These are decently priced but I don't know anybody that's had them.

I had a set of Mud Rovers on my Dodge. I 'wheeled in Moab with 'em and they worked well there, but I don't have any off road experience with them on terrain that you're likely to see in this area.

As far as highway ride, noise, and wear, they were pretty much identical to the set of BFG Mud Terrains I had before.

i had dunlop rv's, they are sort of a cross between an at and a mt. I liked them.

It sounds like discount is trying to screw you. take a magazine ad in there and have them match the prices. tyres international had the cheapest prices when I was shopping.

might be looking to get rid of my MTRs in the coming weeks...

are you going to sell them as racing slicks?:D

I will probably get rid of my 33" MT/R's in the spring as I am looking to up grade. 4 MT/R's with 6k on them and a fifth that was my spare (still has the sticker:)). Looking to upgrade to 37's.

Jason, what are you changing to?

37's with the heavy scout, Brandons heavy foot, and that loud V8 = CARNAGE

That's why you run a one ton drivetrain...and a big block ;)

Well, I am kind of hoping with the "new" axles and mucho lifto that I will be able to crawl a little more. Hey I even have working brakes now:)

New axles??? move up to some 60's? if so, what spline outers on the front?

Jackasic

hd 44/60 on 64 WMS to WMS. still 5.5 which will be nice. I have to wait and see if I can find a fron 60. not in the cards yet. May gve james friend a call, but I think the drop is wrong.

in response to brandon's question I am likely looking at 35s... not sure what. depends on what kind of a deal I can get.

Jackasic

don't you need some lockers or gears or stuff first?;)

froader03

I'm here to help:D

So are you finnaly going to get them installed? How about the SAS swap? that's what you realy need - full width 44.

I went to sears yesterday and almost hit the jackpot. He was looking through his computer at tires and said he had BFG Mud T/As for $136. but then he tried to call in the order and said that was the old part number for the original T/As. I knew it was to good to be true.

yes, however, that would mean purchasing the axle, having to get new gears and I still wouldn't be locked up front unless I ponied up even more skrilla for another locker. not to mention the costs that always come up because nothing ever goes according to plan. SO, I think I'll work on extended radius arms for Christmas and with any luck dump my tires off and see what kinda 35s I can afford.

There is this little Mexican shop in Corpus called Banuelos Tires and I was there a couple days ago and i think he said that they had 33" BFG Muds for $125, ill get back to you on that for sure.

any price you could get on some 35s might be of interest to me... who wants to go to the beach?

Jackasic

I think I can get you 35 MT/R's for around 150 or so. I'll have to check.

BTW, I should be able to pick up my 37 for 165 for 15" and 6 bucks more a tire for ones that fit a 17" rim. Not sure which way I am going yet, the 37x17 are D or E load while the 15 inchers are C load.

Cajun, any input?

... if I order today. I don't check the website that often. is it really just today or maybe it's gonna go on for awhile into the christmas season? and I'd rather spend an extra $100 and get KMs or MTRs...

Super Sport HT

33x12.5 - $116
35x12.5 - $119

Walmart.com

Plus, if you know someone who works at wally world, you may be able to get up to a 10% discount. And last time I was at the super walmart on briarcrest they just happened to have a set of 35s laying there.

Only friends can help friends not buy **** tires;)

Remember folks, it only cost a little extra to go first class. They may be big and cheap, but at least they'll suck off-road.

LMAO... hell yes, this type of advice is always free, but rarely heeded because for most folks it takes a few wrong choices to make the right one. in the unique case of El Cheapo Brandini he moderates between the two (good stuff and paying for good stuff twice over with cheap stuff because you refuse to get good stuff).

Thanks everybody for your input. My mom helped me out with a little early Xmas cash and the rest I put on my sears card. Figured I might as well get some good tires I know will last the rest of the life of my Ford (which might not be long). Hopefully if they come in tomorrow I'll be at the meeting on some new KMs.

Hey brian, if it's not raining, why don't you sneak the deathmobile over to the meeting? :D

mudtoy67
12-04-2002, 12:37 AM
that would be interesting......the death wobbil has subsided since the addition of the new steering arm. One problem though (among others)....no tail-lights. maybe if I can get someone to follow me from the house.

froader03

I can follow you up there if you want, but I need to get there early so if you wanna leave your place @ 7:45 let me know.

Since Brian doesn't check the board too often, I'll go by his house tonight and get him to bring the 'cruiser to the meeting and follow in my truck.
