Frick, Coop, BDR, Kopecki, and several others went out there on Saturday. Sunday JB and Travis went out, figured I would put a thread about it here.

-----Down South Off Road-----
LOCATION: Crosby, TX, About 10 miles East outside the Beltway
WEBSITE: http://www.downsouthoffroad.com/index.php
VEHICLES ALLOWED: 4 wheelers, dirt bikes, trucks, jeeps, etc...
PRICE: $10 per vehicle, $10 per person (so with my Luis, the Klogger and me it was $30)
WHEELING: Lots of sand, creeks, and mud. This property used to be a sand mining operation (Think 47/Brazo Valley Off Road Park), so there are lots of odd ponds, and steep drop offs. The best thing is it borders the San Jacinto River, after a day of wheeling you can drive up and go swim in it. The park is over 700 Acres, so unlike Creekside Edge in Splendora, it is quite large. We wheeled for like 4 hours and never did the same thing twice.
OTHER INTERESTING THINGS: I did not see if they had restrooms or anything, but I think they might. When you drive in they had a person taking money. The lady made you show her your driver's license and scanned it!. Additionally they had a "rent a cop"/Security guard at the entrance. This keeps some of the undesirables out. Surprisingly they had a water truck that went around and watered the main roads to attempt to keep dust down (maybe Alto should look into this....)

Timing sucked. I guess it was worthwhile.

I only paid $15 for me and the 4 wheeler, maybe she liked me. They did have some port-a-crappers by the river.

Yeah, plenty of porta-potties. Had a BBQ shack at the beach too.

It is $20 for a truck and one person, or $15 for one person and a 4 wheeler.

Thr Frick and I went yesterday, it was awesome. Got there in the late afternoon. We rode trails for probably 3 hours non stop and never did the same trail twice. We swam in the river and as we were about to leave a band was setting up. Some highschoolers got up and sang, they were ok and it was free. Got back about 11 pm and it was still going. It is outstanding!

I also rolled my 4 wheeler trying to go up a hill that was a tad to steep. No worries though I just did the $500 4 wheeler side step and let it roll on down, it apparently will run upside down.
