If you do not make this trip than you are dead to me.

Dates are to be deteremined as they are not yet listed on their website.

Still have a refill left on the prescription I got post SR 2010, so I'm good to go.

I have some ideas to make a kickass campsite.

I will arrive sometime afternoon Thursday toting Bronco/Honda behind campershelled Diane. I probably will not go to work on Monday.

I am not bringing any sort of shirt. I AM bringing sunscreen, and lots of Coors.

Hey girl!

i need a couch for the back of the bronco. If someone sees one laying on the side of the road let me know. Preferably a full size couch with a floral pattern. I plan to cut holes in it and mount it on the bedsides. Then the cooler will slide under it will double as a footrest while at the pit.

also, I have a demo dvd player headrest from work. I can slide any picture I want into it. Choices are:

Some bad news about the shirts:

These are a definite maybe, we've been having trouble paying our outstanding bills with CC creations (not getting into specifics here, problem is on our end) but we should get this resolved today and hopefully there is still enough time for T-Shirts. If you want one and haven't posted up, please do so by today and if you said you wanted one please don't stiff us by not paying.

I am bringing a canopy that is maybe 10x10. I think a table for food would be a good idea and I could probably bring that.

Is anyone bringing any food? Ed? I remember some delicious Mexican food last year. I would throw down $20 if someone wanted to buy some food for one night. Other than that, I am only going to bring hot dogs, pop tarts, gatorades and Coors Light.

It is going to be dusty as hell, so night want to keep that in mind. I will probably bring some gallons of water for cleaning off.

Do you think there would be a burn ban? That would really suck if so.

I think I am going to try for the same campsite we have had over the past few years. It is close to the main road, but far enough away that you dont have all the noise. It is on an incline, but most every site is.

Ideally, I would like to get there mid-afternoon on Thursday. Want to get camp set up and wheel a little before dark.

I have plenty of space at my house too if you need to park trailers etc.

Ed, so you are bringing travel trailer and big trailer with a deuce and Tommy's Bronco? No Beast?

They are just worried about some localized flash floods because of the magnitude precip. not infiltrating inundated soils fast enough. Besides, Alto is in the Neches water shed while the majority of the rainfall is in the Brazos or Colorado basins.

Oh is that how floods work...

You would figure if that was the case there would be more than q 30 percent chance of rain, especially since alto is dead in the middle if thier green-zone.

85cj7

No, that's how flash floods work. A flood would be from immense rainfall upriver, accumulating in a main level 3 waterway through the channeling of level 1 and 2 tributaries resulting in a surge of the water line downstream.

On a separate note:
Less than 1" of rain in my part of Dallas so far but they did say some localized areas would see 7"+ out in West Texas. That is prob. why they were saying "Too much too fast"

What determines when a burn ban is placed and when it is lifted? I am not trying to burn anything, but the dumbass down the road has a mountain of trash that has been accumulating for months. I know he is going to try and burn it.

What determines when a burn ban is placed and when it is lifted? I am not trying to burn anything, but the dumbass down the road has a mountain of trash that has been accumulating for months. I know he is going to try and burn it.

It is based off fuel to moisture data percentages. Not so much the actual percentage; that is to say that there isn't a threshold at which when the moisture level declines to does it trigger a ban; it's more based off a qualitative analysis of the rate at which the ratio is falling.

Different authoritative entities do it a bit differently and they all manage their land independently so Texas Forest Service will be a bit different then TPWD and their decisions for implementing or lifting a ban will be independently based on their own data.

TPWD collects fuel to moisture data on the two dominant canopy species of the area (so say ashe juniper and post oak) with samples taken from plants with a diameter at breast height of 4" or greater. A 10 oz sample of foliage is taken for each species type and then the moisture is removed at varying intervals of time by using an oven or microwave. With the sample being re-weighed after each session. When the weight change stops then you calculate the % of reduction and you can figure out your moisture to fuel ratio for that given area/species/time.

There has been a lot of criticism in this technique as true randomization will never occur and large errors from technique and technician bias are almost inevitable.

chevy started making z71 just a suspension package in 2007 with the new body styles. it also started producing z71 3/4 tons. If a truck is 4x4 it will have a z71 4x4 sticker now. It is the same way with colorados, except z71 has always just been a suspension package with them since they were introduced in 2004

Also, if you are planning on coming on Friday night, be prepared for a very long wait to get into the park. In years past, it has been several hours trying to get in late on Friday.

You can not purchase alcohol in Alto, Tx.

I am sure that there will be a burn ban still in place in Cherokee County. Not sure how this will really realistically affect Shiloh Ridge. If they tell us at the gate no fires, then we need to adhere, unlike we did at KR last year. I can easlily see some TPWD or FS guys out there writing tickets, but we will find out on Thursday.
