there are only 12 on the main side now, they turned two of them into suites... i think there are 6 across the road? but i could be wrong...

Another thing, they were building another building in the parking lot on memorial day weekend. I heard it was for a bbq place, but maybe they added some rooms with it?

For all the newbs that are on the fence about this trip, make it! Best wheeling country around, just simply awesome. These pics are from about a week ago; water is REALLY low out there, I hope they get some damned rain. Made picking lines on Green Momba a lot easier. If you are worried about your rig, there is ALWAYS an open seat to ride in and trust me sometimes it is more fun to ride then to drive. Just ask anyone who has ridden in the bed of Ed's big cheby.

You wanna tow me? :flipoff3:

If only it were that easy, I can't really afford to rent a truck and a trailer from Uhaul and swing the rest of the trips expenses. If you have a trailer spot, let me know. I'm willing to pay for fuel, beer, even give you a trail seat. I'd hate to not be able to go to Clayton, and as much as I'm trying to get the word out with people I know, most of the people I would think to ask are on this board.

Right now it looking like Landon and I might be swapping trailers although I would rather pull someone from Houston and not deal with the hassle of getting my trailer back from Baytown. I'll keep you in the loop. Whatever trailer I use, it will need room for Busa's chassis and Lynda's Jeep - I plan to deliver it back to Busa on the way up.

not sure how long the chassis is but i bet it would slide under my blazer, assuming it has no 'fenders' on the front and it is just a frame level loop, and hang off the rear of the trailer and still be safe

Well after a solid night of drinking at the TAMOR north headquarters, there has been the discussion of a full on Klayton Khristmas Khallenge. This Khallenge will be a series of events that normally take place during our spectacular winter extravaganza, but instead they will now all be in compassed into something of historical and monumental excellence.

Although the scoring system has yet to be decided or the prize, the event will include:

$25 Chawktaw casino challenge
Clayton hill climb dash
Sweet baby jay's Lush Mellow Crunch eat off
Hit rowdy in the nuts log splitting and karl's tire gauge beej
A&A dump off
And lastly...
Tater hill taver travel challenge

Suggestions are welcomed, but the chance are I or tamor north will tell the to f off, take the challenge and be a man or cry home to your bronco.

P.s. There are some hidden secret challenge along the way, but only if you complete the above.

Power = Volts * Amps, so your truck is 12 volt, the lights are 110 volt, your alternator puts out 135 amps (assuming your engine, fuel injection, etc.. use none). Your in college, figure it out.

Info on the 2 trails south of town that use to include 3 stage. It is probably not worth towing everything down there, but I might just drive my truck down there and check it out if I get there early enough.

I usually run the trails about once a year, but quite honestly it is a long way to go to only run 2 trails. Head South on 271 towards clayton lake state park, about 5 miles and after 9 Pine Rd and the State Park, you will take a left on Wildwood Rd. It is a dirt road and goes through a housing addition, BE SURE TO GO SLOW!! Keep going past the houses all the way to the cell tower. After the cell tower keep following the road. If you want to go to Snake Pit you will take the first right to get there, keep going down the trail and stay left every time it splits until you get to the creek crossing, that is Snake Pit. It is a creek bed like Green Mamba. Go all the way until the power line, then you have to turn around and come back out the way you came in. DO NOT GO OUT THE POWERLINE. That is private property and off limits. They have called the game warden in the past and will do it again if they see you. There is a house on the side of the hill that they can see who is on it.

If you do not want to go to Snake Pit keep goign and you take the second left which is the entrance of Rock Creek. It is not clearly marked and can be hard to find. After taking a left you will go down the mountain until you get to a big slab, that you cannot go over the middle of unless you want to run the risk of rolling. Just after that you will see an opening to your right and that will be Lost Creek. If you go past that, you will see a Green and White sigh that says posted Hurliman Mountain or something like that, turn around and go back because on the other side of that sign is private property.

After taking a right on Lost Creek, keep following it until you come to a dead end with a big tree, that is K Trail, take a right, then take another right at the next fork in the road and that will take you back the way you came in.

Directions to Frielings from Clayton

From Clayton, head Northeast on OK-2/US-271 toward Lawrence and continue to follow OK-2 for approximately 12 miles.

Turn right on OK-1/OK-63 and go approximately 1.5 miles to first county road on left.

Turn left (Cardinal Rd ) and go approximately 1/3 of a mile to the next county road (will be an intersection, with no stop sign).

At this intersection take another left at (Songbird Rd or SE220) and go approximately 1/3 of a mile to the next county road on the right.

Take right (Songbird LP or SE1035th Ave) and follow county road. Pavement will end and turn into private gravel drive. After the getting on the gravel drive, it will go up hill and then make a hard left.
Follow the road up the hill to the entrance of Mr. Frielings
land.

In 2007 the group I was running the K-Trail with got lost at night and end up running Snake Pit around Midnight. Bunch of IFS Yota's on 33's clanging through that creek bed was bad news bears. Lots of twisted sheet metal, 2 lost beads, a door that wouldn't open and my FJ filled with water to what seemed like the steering wheel. I would love to tackle that stuff now that I have been wheeling for a few years and have a better built vehicle.

No Brian, not this year. Life has been a bit hectic, but by next summer, things should be rolling along very smoothly and we should be able to start making some family trips out wheeling again! My boy will really enjoy the trails I believe.

Oh, and Heather, you are very welcome. ;)
