JANUARY 28, not February 28

We're planning a trip to at least ride some ATVs that weekend.

Anyone else want to go?

BroncoJo
01-20-2012, 12:41 PM
Do you mean January 28? We discussed this at the last meeting and there was plenty of interest

WTF does that even mean?

MR.ZAP
01-20-2012, 04:57 PM
Iron Maiden introduced me to that word as a child... :haha:

clair-voy-ant   [klair-voi-uhnt]
adjective

1. having or claiming to have the power of seeing objects or actions beyond the range of natural vision: Not being clairvoyant, I did not foresee the danger of ignoring her advice. Synonyms: psychic, telepathic, prescient, second-sighted, visionary; intuitive, empathic; predictive, prophetic.

Isn't Alto about 2 hrs. from CS? You guys are driving all the way out there, paying for gas, and the $40 entry fee for an afternoon of wheeling? (If so then the new generation of college students has more cash then I ever did)

Anyone staying fri-sat or sat-sun?

is it really 40 for one day?

My understanding is that it is a flat 3 day pass for $40. That's why if I'm going to make the haul I'm going to make it count. But please correct me if I am mistaken b/c i would love to pay less. Anyone know for sure? I couldn't find anything on their website about prices.

Kyle.
01-24-2012, 09:46 PM
Im down to go if it doesnt cost 40 bucks. I have my first day of work sunday so it would only be a day trip. not worth 40 bucks and skipping meals for a week to pay for gas.

AggieTJ2007
01-24-2012, 09:46 PM
the $40 is only on special event weekends. if it is just a regular weekend it is much cheaper like $10 per day.

sam_hodnett
01-24-2012, 09:47 PM
I dont think so, that is just event weekends. Last time i think it was 15 or 20 for driver and 10 for passenger

The mud is fun too. Bring a few changes of clothes and keep your feet dry. It should be epic after the amount of rain we've had. Some of these mud lovers have been pent up for nearly a year without much to play in out there. Forecast is nice days and cold nights. No rain. We'll see.

I was planning on going Friday. Anyone else?

Anyone want to confirm they're open? I emailed them, but I'm doubtful on remembering to make a phone call during business hours. I give it a 50/50 shot as hearing back from them in the next 6 weeks. :)

Agree. Thanks JB.

I'm going to call during my lunch break tomorrow around noon just to make sure. It's pretty amazing to me that full time students (with less than stellar GPAs) cannot pick up a phone between classes and make a call.

I've got the wheeling bug this weekend but don't think Alto is worth the drive and gas money for a big mud pit that I'll be cleaning off for weeks. Going to hit up Bridgeport OHV this Sunday instead for a some rocks. Invite to anyone who wants to join.

I dont understand this. Daily driver rigs don't want to wheel cause they could break and the built rigs dont want to go in the mud because they'll get dirty. I think yall need to find another hobby because you will definately get dirty anywhere you go wheeling and you'll definately break something every once in a while.

Great time. I was shocked to see the park almost empty. I was way off in my prediction there. It was awesome having it all to ourselves, just flying through all of the trails. I saw parts of the park I had never seen. The recent water made every little hole full of water. Made it fun. I didn't see any dust until the main roads late on Saturday. That was nice for a change.

Stub is $65 at the cheapest, inners and outers start at a cool $149. And which one do you get? 30 passenger? 44 driver? Sorry to hear this, that really sucks. The scaphoid bone is one of the last bones you ever want to break, takes forever to heal compared to the radius and ulna. I broke the scaphoid in my right hand and was in a full hand cast for months. And when I say full hand cast, I mean forget about using that hand for awhile. I'm going to try to attach a pic of what I mean, but I'm not sure if it's gonna work on my phone.

Stub is $65 at the cheapest, inners and outers start at a cool $149. And which one do you get? 30 passenger? 44 driver? It's just not practical unless you are made of money, or you drive something that was made during the ****ing oil embargo :haha: Not attacking you at all broham, just saying...

I agree, I'm at the replace it as you break it point financially. Don't have much of an option...

I think for a vehicle which requires a stub shaft to drive, a $65 stub shaft is good insurance. $200 in fluids and tools makes you almost completely self sufficinent.

you know you can pull just the inner, leave the stub in the unit bearing stuff a rag in the axle tube and drive for a couple of weeks without any problems

also $300 for a set of shafts is pretty cheap,

yeah its 300 for just the driver side, ill have to shell out another 300 for the passenger side soon. Im going with superior discovery axle shafts. should do the trick.

make sure you put good ujoints in there, it would be a waste to get alloy shafts and run stock u-joints

BTW, I'm going to sell the Honda & Trailer. I bought Kevin's yellow Suzuki in the pics. Let me know if you know anyone who wants one. It worked awesome. He's getting a RZR, so I'm buying his at trade-in value.

Surgery on Monday to put a screw in my scaphoid:( Hopefully the ligaments are ok so I do not have to get pins put in. Possibly just a splint afterwards for a few months instead of a cast. That would be nice

High deductible because I am young and invincible blah blah blah:( I will have to change that next reenrollment.

It felt fine this weekend so I worked with it and reinstalled my steering ram, spliced my winch rope back together, and tore the winch setup off the 04 in prep for the new bumper. Was pretty aching that night. Chest is ok. Knee is still pretty sore and I will probably have to get it looked at. Will probably need some TAMOR assistance in installation of the new bumper and winch

Sucko

Hopefully I will be fully healed to win TCC X again:gigem:

Just a screw or a plate too? I have 5 screws in my wrist. It healed pretty quick and there wasn't any pain after surgery. My arm was completely numb for 2 days after surgery though. Let me know when you need help.

JB

He didn't mention plates. Dr. is very smart guy but was poor at describing the injury in simple terms. Seems like it will be pretty routine though. The impact fractured several other bones in the hand in a pattern that is not really typical. I am getting a 2nd opinion tomorrow just to be sure. If left untreated, it can cause arthritis later, which I don' want.

Thanks for the offer. I was planning on just taking it over to Travis' and getting some guys to help out. I haven't told Travis this yet.:)

Yeah, I've already got some arthritis in my wrist but I only ever have issues with it when it's cold.
