Why would you not be there? Really no excuses.

If you make one trip, this fall, this is the one you should make.

Bronco to be resurected.

Mainly putting parts on that I already have and getting things going from sitting.

The list:

Bolt the axle I bought from Tommy under it.. Goodtogo according to him :)

Bolt the driveshaft in

New battery

Straighten front coils (hopefully while I am bolting the axle in)

Change the oil.

Mount tires and install (pick out which wheels to run) anyone have loaner mud tires, mine are ATs

Maybe throw some 6x9 boxes I have in a box in the bed.

Charge the AC?

500EFI. For 1200 hours, it still gets up and goes. Just needs a rear diff from dummy driving it on pavement locked in 4wd constantly. Rear diff, some take off tires and wheels from a newer Ranger, and maybe a little bump bump....

I have a '06 700 EFI with a broken CV shaft. I pulled the outer already. It is c-clip so I guess I have to pull the whole front-end apart to do it. Lots of stuff to move to do it. No fun.

KrazyKarl02
09-06-2012, 11:10 AM
False, My understanding, and I have done this on a polaris 4 wheeler, just not a side by side, is you take a slide hammer/dent puller, attach it to the shaft, since yours is broken you can weld a tab or whatever. Then connect slidehammer and keep sliding until it pops. Took me a little while to figure this out, I actually attached my winch to the damn thing and was pulling the 4 wheeler all over. Then someone told me about the slide hammer.

I wouldn't call it "C-clip" it is more of spring clip. Like when you reassemble it, you put the pin on the axle then push it through the case.

Shaggy
09-07-2012, 08:13 AM

Cancel the AC charge and the 6x9 boxes.

Add Install E Fan.

No promises, but I did get wasp nests out of the door hinges and started it yesterday. Just had to dump a couple gallons of fresh gas in it, wouldn't even hit on the old stuff.

Definite maybe. I figure it is really only time and few hundred bucks. 50-75 for a walmart battery, 30 for an oil change, and 50 or so to have the tires mounted and balanced. Another 60 for gas :)

Biggest issue right now is that it isn't showing any oil pressure, hoping its a shorted wire. Start with oil change and go from there.

This turned out to be an epic trip as always, despite the cold weather.

By my count we had around 35 people camped with us

John Brown, Jeremiah, and I arrived around dark Thursday. We got unloaded, and set up a rough camp site, and started a fire. Met a couple of people that were in a neighboring campsite and decided to go drive around for a while as it was too hot to stand by the fire. We were almost back to camp when the cold front and rain set in. Spent the rest of the night huddled around the fire under a huge umbrella Jeremiah brought.

The next morning every body started rolling in, and a kickass time was had by all. Did a lot of wheeling, I saw more of the park this year than I ever have.

The usual amount of big ghey mud trucks and drunken rednecks were there, and they did not disappoint.

The belle performed great, got to go everywhere I wanted, thanks to some awesome co-piloting from Creighton and Noah. I couldnt be more pleased.

Carnage report:
The belle - Broken front longside shaft, and busted brake line. Thanks to Fred and the guys, it was back together and wheeling that night.

Swamp Donkey - Broken Axle yoke. Was fixed and wheeled that night

Nasty Bastard - blown master, fixed that day

Klogger - Broken front driveshaft

Colemans YJ - broken rear driveshaft

Mega-Rover - Broken rear shaft, Think it was just the u-joint. was fixed

Grahams explorer - lost 4x4

Evans Ranger - Tommy ****ed up the rear end, but fixed it

JBs Ranger - blew a belt, fixed

Im sure there are more, but I cant recall at this point.

I think the midget from Lurch's engine went and raped the transfercase out of boredom this weekend. Something is definitely not right with it. I'll take one out of the Scout Dana 20 pile and swap it out before Clayton.

Had a great time. It was good seeing everyone. I never want to get in that much mud while wheeling ever again.

Oh, and the Klogger kicks some serious ass as a prerunner. :D

**mini half ass writeup

Am I doing it wrong or are all of Blankenship's pictures tiny?

When Sam, Jeremiah, and I pulled in, we met some of Ed's friends checking in at the front gate. You were definitely missed Ed.

Thursday night sucked as it rained. Friday was overcast and cold. Saturday and Sunday were gorgeous

Did anyone get a total head count? We had a BIG group for sure.

Bubba needs to be invited next year for sure. If I recall, I think I challenged him to a dance off Saturday night?? Then we attempted to talk **** to LSU people?? Its a blur. Anyone get a pic of his absurd slide-in camper on a boat trailer contraption? Kopecki would be proud

I really was not intending to pull that big gay mud truck on its side. I thought the guy was cool, but he was definetly not cool the next morning when I went to ask for my strap back. Dick said it was his buddy's, not mine....no way for me to prove it really.

Watching the Klogger attempt the big rock hill was sweet. I thought it's chances were slim, but it was SO close before the driveshaft let go. The random guys at the bottom wanted it to go up it so bad :gigem:

Having the Ranger there was a blast. Seriously, we covered so much more ground in that thing. We slow-rolled it 2-3 times and it never missed a beat until the belt let go. Somehow, Evan happened to have the exact Polaris belt, so we were back ready to go about an hour later. They are very easy to change out. I test drove that RZR of his too....wow, I wish I fit in it better...those are sick machines No wonder everyone has one out there. Jeremiah was trying to pretend our Ranger was a RZR trying to keep up.

The Bronco snapped the rear yoke on one of the rock hills near the mud pit. It was nice having the doubler to get it easily back to camp. Thanks alot Karl for the yoke and ujoint. I owe you a big one, (if you know what I mean;))

Never sleeping on the ground or in a tent again. Cold + Rain = miserable. Not sure on the setup I want to look for, but I want to do something. I need to live like a Crouch when I am out wheeling.

Had to winch the Bronco on the trailer for the trip home, but it just happened to be out of gas.

It was good to see the Murphy Belle back on the trail. She did pretty good Not even sure when the front shaft let go. I think a matching 4th tire and it is ready for Clayton.

Have you guys heard that new song about Joe Diffie?:D

51 weeks to go!

Sorry guys but I realized that I had my camera on the ****ty movie setting all weekend. Instead of taking 1080p videos they are only 360p. Still learning all the buttons on this new camera.

Bubba's contraption. Yes, that is a boat trailer. The single best part of this arrangement is the compartment on front was used to smuggle in an extra 3-wheeler. The interior has been redone with some prety nice wood and it actually looks great. He was pulling this thing with a bombed lime green late model cummins.
