We are going to have the first run of the new semester at the newest park in the state (to my knowledge), Texas Off Road Ranch in Huntsville. It's a 750 acre park and it looks like the fee is $30, which covers rig/driver/passenger per their website. Also, it should only be a 45 min. drive out there, which is awesome. We will meet at Sam's Club at 10 a.m. If you want to ride with someone else, you can leave your vehicle up there all day.

Date change pending I guess haha weekend before? I am down for the 27th. That was the original date we settled on. Although I would bet money we make it back before the game.

Why don't we just do it on Saturday the 2nd? We normally do it on Saturdays so we don't have to worry about class the next day.

Second part is incorrect. In fact, pretty much all of our day runs have been Sundays.

Edit: Tommy, finish your ****. You have 15 days to weld a few things and wire it.

3.55. But already have a 4.10 8.8 in the garage just waiting to regear the front now too.

What time does everyone want to meet up at on Saturday?

I went to this park to check it out last weeked. It is an EASY park. Good run for new guys, virtually zero way to break anything. Its got flat trails... not a huge place. looks like an old property that has been logged and they turned it into a park. No real dirt hill climbs or anything, a lot of just puttering around.

it makes alto look like a 10. If that means anything. I would rate this place a 4.

Good part about it is that its close to college station, I got there in about 30 minutes.

MR.ZAP
01-28-2013, 11:25 AM
Does it have potential, Evan? I know that they are actively building that place up.

Does it have potential, Evan? I know that they are actively building that place up.

Not really... They are digging for rocks... the rocks are just stacked into a 30' long hill, you do it, turn around and do it again. no real contour to the property to have obstacles.

MR.ZAP
01-28-2013, 02:25 PM
Well that's no bueno, good for the new guys though? I read that there was a place to swim on the property as well?

I am down for G. Sam's. We promised close, and that is just as close as the other. It looks cheaper as well.

General sams and Texas offroad ranch almost back up to each other on an arial photo. Took us less than 10 minutes to leave Texas offroad ranch and head to General sams.

Two guys from a local club went to Texas Offroad ranch last weekend. They were In a Rockwell buggy and juggy on tons. They had a good time and recommended the place for a day run......

See post below.

For my 30th birthday this weekend, Josh brought his buggy out along with our buddy Greg and I brought mine out along with my wife Rachel. We went to the new park in Huntsville to see what it was all about. For as close to the house as it is, it is a great park! We had a really good time there and we didnt come close to seeing it all. There is plenty to do there to keep busy and have fun. There are playground areas, long dirt roads for bombing down, a circle dirt track, creek trails and some wooded trails that needed a little more clearing. Would be perfect for a day trip for the club.

I'm with hot pocket, it looks like a super easy place to teach/go over safety and simple spotting procedures. Do they allow dirt bike? I see some sweet jumps

MR.ZAP
01-29-2013, 06:28 PM
Yeah, we already decided that we would just go and check it out. And yes, motorcycles and ATV's are allowed.

Not much info, but enough to get by haha

Yes, Texas Off Road Ranch is awesome. Perfect day trip for the club and a perfect way to baptize the newbies. Also, it seems like they are working hard to build it up. Should be a really fun place in the near future. We had a really solid turnout as well, I think everyone had a blast.

Great time, great park, especially for how close it is.

Had 12 or 13 rigs, and almost all of them had at least 2 people in them. No one had any serious carnage, just some slight body damage for CJ and a ****ed air filter for Graham.

Would definitely go back to this park, was pretty big, and had some obstacles and trails that were pretty difficult for the more basic rigs.

Evan's review was actually chet's review. I think he had a good time today, although he was the first to leave. The park is honestly pretty damn good, and has room to improve.

Great park. Any time anyone goes again or I decide to head out there for a day trip I'll let y'all know. Texas offroad ranch has a very bright future ahead of its self.

POST PICS ASAP!!!

Within two weeks they had cut twice the number of trails. You could tell they were freshly cut too. So yes they are working to improve it.

****-talking aside, I thought it was great to see all those new guys out there. I talked with some of them, and it seems like their experience levels range from (freshman hot-pocket) to (experienced jeep-homo). Get the new guys on the boards, a lot of them seemed really interested and said that they had a great time.

In my search for a welder, I spoke with the owner of the park. He was a really nice guy, and he washappy to see that we all came out and had a good time. He asked about where we were from, and I told him about TAMOR. He said he would be happy to have us back at any time.

Since we were last to leave for the night, he even came over and told us thanks again for coming and to have a good night and a safe drive home.

I think this club should have more trips to this place. It's a driveable distance that I can make without having to get towed, the owner was a really nice guy, loved having us, and is actively working to improve his property and business.

Is that the 'big rocky hill' you were referring to? The one I was talking about had the big dip at the beginning and you were surrounded by earth.

The end of Hot Pocket's video...
