Not trying to be a dick, but......

There has always and will always be a clayton shirt. It's not a matter of IF, but what. Most people who go want a shirt. Most people have one from every year they have been.

Just post up some design ideas and let everyone decide. We have generally sold them for $20-$25.

Well the Dr said the new baby will likely be born 12/5. My cousin's wedding is 12/13. This looks like it could possibly happen. I don't know if my wife would leave me or not if I leave her home with 3 kids one being only 2 weeks old. I went to TCC the week after our last was born and still hear about it. I am not saying I am in. I am just saying it is a possibility. If at all possible I will bring the Busa jeep. I haven't had it out anywhere too exciting yet. And the Tate Jeep needs a new air shock and some TLC.

True... some of our group that was leaving later sunday afternoon said there were a couple of guys blocking off the main road where you drop into KT's climb..you can still run Jeff's ledges but that big ass water hole will probably stop anyone from going any further...the way it looks its everything on the right side...gaspers goo, waterfall, etc...

got a friend calling Rudy today to see what we need to do to make sure it stays open

Busa
12-01-2014, 04:57 PM
So what can we wheel

kyle
12-01-2014, 07:06 PM
Doesn't sound like Rudy is too worried about it and thinks it will pass pretty quick?

Knowing him he'll probably go up there and tear down the ropes and chains to keep business flowing. If the chains stay, the only thing you can't get to immediately is waterfall and gaspers goo that are right off the main road on the right...should still be able to get to everything else though.

It's not the trash that is causing this, just an excuse for the owners of the other land. Sounds like they are having to use the main road as an easement. Apparently after the place was logged the owners sold and new owners are the problem??? Don't know if its for hunting or more potential logging?

The place was pretty clean this past weekend..didn't come across any "piles" at all. Maybe a can or 2 and everyone we were with always picks up ours and others.

JB
12-01-2014, 07:56 PM
Man that sucks. Will be sure to pick up as much as we see. Pretty excited. Jeep needs some work over the next couple of weeks.

I just spoke to Rudy down at green acres in Clayton.
THERE IS ONLY AN ISSUE WITH THE LANDOWNER OF THE PROPERTY BETWEEN GASPERS GOO
& WATERFALL ALONG THE ACCESS ROAD PARALLEL TO JEFF'S LEDGES!!!!
According to Rudy, this other LANDOWNER has put his ropes & signs to far over from the surveyed property lines.
Rudy also stated that he is NOT UPSET with any situation regarding the
trash on his property. He stated that he feels that everyone DOES
RESPECT his property. If you do go wheeling there, just be mindful and
pack out your trash & pick up any extra trash if your parked on the
trail.
Rudy is not selling any of his property.
If you
do go down there and need to use the access road for a rig rescue or an
emergency, just move the ropes if possible and twice them. I would
suggest that until this LAND DISPUTE BETWEEN RUDY AND THE OTHER PROPERTY
OWNER is finalized through their legal actions, let's be mindful that
it isn't our business.
Simply just use Jeffs ledges to go that way.
I'll try to answer any questions if needed. Please share to your wheeling groups.

JB

So basically where we get out onto the access Rd in order to bypass the deep water hole, then we drop right back in....that is where the access Rd is blocked? So it's blocked from there all the way to the creek crossing/green mamba start?

kyle
12-03-2014, 07:38 PM
Its blocked at the entrance of KT's climb from what they told me..there is another outlet right before the water hole so we can get out and right back in unless the guy set up land mines or something

Not sure how accurate this may be:

http://www.lsjc.org/board/showthread.php?73016-Trail-closed-at-Green-Acres/page2

Update found on Pirate...
Green Acres is still going strong. Clayton wants and needs your business. However, it is NOT business as usual at Green Acres. Rudy graciously provides the front door for crawling in this area, however, he does not own all of the land that has been used by crawlers over the years. "Official boundaries from the courthouse" have been located on the ground by registered surveyors. These boundaries are marked by orange flags and posts. Southeastern Oklahoma Land Company has surveyed the property near Green Acres and it is in the process of selling acreage to the east of this area. The portions on which Jeff's Ledges and 8 Point are located, as well as the eastern entrance to Black Sheep Blvd., has been purchased by Angels Camp. Access to the main trail and all tributary trails at the north end of Wet n' Wild is no longer allowed. Access to the creek paralleling this trail is also prohibited. ALL OTHER TRAILS ARE STILL OPEN. To keep you safe and to keep you from trespassing, we have posted yellow signs marking the closed trails and property. The yellow ropes are on private property, and their destruction and/or removal is certainly trespassing, and could be criminal mischief. Yes, garbage did have something to do with this decision. So did the destruction of the vegetation which controlled erosion. Likewise, oil and beer cans in the creek would make any conscientious landowner want to deny access. Keep in mind, since Rudy never owned this property, no one ever had permission to enter this property to begin with. If you need to access Green Mamba please do so via Flag Pole Road or one of the western trails. However, it is my understanding that Green Mamba is also not situated on land owned by Rudy, so someone may need to find the owner and get permission to continue using that area. Angels Camp knows that most of the readers of this post really do care about the trails. However, there are many (probably NOT reading this post) who don't care if they crawl in garbage, and therefore, they should go crawl at the city dump. As fellow members of Pirate4x4, we must take responsibility for policing our fellow crawlers or lose more trails. Please, let us all enjoy this wilderness area by keeping it clean, staying on the trails, and staying off of property where we do not have permission to roam.

mudtoy67
12-12-2014, 11:01 AM
So, looking at the map in the pbb thread...

Looks like it affects Jeff's Ledges starting just above the drop-in at the air strip, through the area at the bottom of 8 Point and Blacksheep (including the first obstacle of blacksheep), up to just before Green Mamba, and the access road to the east, and the crazy trails up the side of the mountain to the east. Then also the corner may cross Walter's Mule Road just above Green Mamba.

If Walter's Mule road is cut off there, I think that means we would have to go up the mountain at the air strip and come down the one where the entrance is by GM Extension entrance (Walk in the Park?) to get to Green Mamba and GM Extension?

CheapJeep
12-12-2014, 01:37 PM
That post on Pirate is kind of suspicious, especially if they're involved in a legal dispute.

We'll find out soon enough what trails are affected once we get there. I'm going to remain optimistic until then.

Summary:

Headed up Thursday evening, upon arrival found that Schubring, Busa, and Robbie had gone night wheeling. Robbie broke his knuckle on Slim's Slope that night. He pulled it, took it to Slim's shop and had him weld and plate it over night.

Friday morning everyone hit green acres. The main access road being off limits makes it kind of a pain, but the only trails it really impacts are Jeff's Ledges, 8 point, and black sheep. Right off the bat my solenoid hung and toasted my starter, Went to Napa while everyone else was getting unloaded and replaced. We ran the creek trail as far as we could and Heath noticed he was losing steering fluid. We found he had reinstalled his ram incorrectly and had damaged a fitting. Jones and him ran to Napa, got a replacement fitting and we went up the mountain. We ran a couple of trails (Zig Zag, backside Loop, Gully Washer, etc.....) and found Slim's Slope. We also ran into Fred, BDR, Creighton, and others taking the loop trail. About 10' into Slim's Slope I blew a long side inner. Luckily BDR was able to winch me to the other trail and Creighton was able to "power pull" me thru the rest. While we did that Jones and Heath continued running Slim's Slope. This is where Jones broke a rear leaf spring and from what I gather seperated ihs rear driveshaft. They got it sucked back up and together somehow, maybe Jones can expand on this. We got back down off the mountain and proceeded to perform repairs. I found the inside of the Scout axle to be mainly filled with mud instead of grease...

Saturday we got up bright and early and hit the trail again. BDR, Flem, and some others hit Freilings, I would be curious as to their summary of that park. The group I was with ran Green Mamba, Green Mamba Extension, and Walk in the Park. Going up Walk in the park my shifter linkage pin fell out and I had to Zip Tie it back in place. Cook assisted by putting a more permanent cotter pin in the linkage. At that point we met up with Creighton, Kyle, Fred, Cook, etc... and ran Walter's Mule Road back down and re-ran green mamba. Then we went to run Cake Walk. At some point in there my Scout would no longer go in to Drive without stepping out and pushing the shift tab on the side of the trans into Drive, so Jones and I peeled off back to the trailers.

At the hotel there was red beans and rice and WTWE. I think the highlight for me was either a full stand up copier that was destroyed by an axe or the "pocket va jay jay" named "Janine" that someone slammed into Tum Tum's face hard enough to give him a nose bleed, leaving the latex copy of an organ bloody. Fred remembered to get the required equipment for the "CJ pass around" and we performed that ceremony. I did my best to come up with a few words and Scott had a good message for the group.

Please post up any pictures or links to photobucket, etc.. you have.

I've got that pic and will post it when I have better internet server.

Send your best PG-rated pics to JeffreyLBrown15@gmail.com so I can get them on our FB album.
Badass trip, great wheeling and even better company! I was pleased with how the new Cherocar build did (until the tow home of course.)

P.S. If any of y'all come across a single car trailer, hmu. Flat-towing is not the solution, kids.

Awesome trip as always! Really great to see everybody, wish it was more often. (Maybe we can improve attendance for TCC or another spring/summer run?) All the anticipation and preparation leading up to this trip.....man, I'm never ready for it to be over.

Karl- add broken cell phone to the list for me...haha. While carrying the entire hub, axleshaft, knuckle assembly up the mountain, I slipped and it came down on my leg right where my phone was. oops....

Busa- Thanks for posting all the pics.... I feel honored, your album starts and ends with me breaking ****....haha.

I already have new front springs and knuckles on the way.
