well we all know i have the axle in the truck, got the manual shift t case, done a buncha other crap... but my plans took a slight turn for the wussy'er route. instead of a big bearing 31 spline 'sploder 8.8 or even a 28 spline ranger 8.8, i've opted to stick with my manly 7.5 (for now.) whats worse, i'm going with 4.56s instead of 4.88s. its all a money issue.
my new idea is to look for a rear axle out of a 91-96 or newer ford 3/4 or 1 ton. then i already know where to get an 8-lug d44. then i'll re-gear.... til then i'll be runnin weiner axles. on the plus side, parts are READILY available for the 30 and the 7.5... so i'll have spares.

questions? comments? insults? ideas?

I think you need 92-98 rear axle if you want the sensor.

Just remember - as far as I know all the ford 3/4 tons ran an 8 lug, dana 44 based TTB front axle. Maybe an F250 HD?? not sure. and the one tons came with d60s i think to.. Just something to verify.

I thought he was saying get the rear out of the that truck...then he knows where to get the front (off the same truck). As far as the 44-50 mixup - I am a big dumb animal.

I have got a 9" you can buy. You can built it to be almost as stong as a 60:D

because if he wants to get a front axle out of the same truck that he gets a rear axle from then there is a good chance that it will not be an 8 lug 44.

dewd...THEY'RE NOT COMING FROM THE SAME TRUCK...i hope that clarifies things....the 8 lug 44 hes getting will be from a late 70`s F250, the rear axle he will be getting will be a Sterling 10.25 from an 88-97 F250 or F350.
