want to change my tranny fluid - NV4500

I am pretty sure Dodge wants Castrol Syntorque ATF fluid in there and that's all they want in there.

I wanted to change to Amsoil but wasn't sure if I should get ATF or gear oil for this tranny. Dodge has had many problems with this tranny behind the Cummins and the synthitic ATF was part of the fix I think.

Anybody know?

go to oreillys and get a bunch of bottles of pennzoil synchromesh. Only place I could find it for my brothers AX-15.

I figured it out.

Castrol Syntorque is a gear oil and the ONLY oil it is supposed to use. I read that the Amsoil is good also with this tranny.

I ordered some Amsoil today for my tranny, x-fer case and Dana 80. I haven't changed any of it yet so I guess it's about time - might as well put some good stuff in.

Almost ordered a cold-air intake for the Dodge then I remembered that this check had to last thru my CO trip..
