if you run a divorced transfer case....can you just put a u-joint in between the two....if you use a small drive shaft, it would have a u-joint at either end, so wouldnt you be able to just use one u-joint???

I'm sure you could, but if you use a driveshaft it would allow for vibration between the two. you'd also need some small hands to get the u bolts on there.

on a 1 ton chevy with the sm420 you would have to move the parking brake linkage so it would clear the transfer case. The parking brake is on the back of the tranny

i agree on the small hands part but why would you have any vibrations between the two???

I think if as transmission move left and right due to the engine torquing the ujoint would grab the transfer case and move it with it, possibly binding it. the driveshaft should allow the transfer case to stay put while the tranny moves with the engine.

Just a thought, I really don't know what I'm talking about here
