this one cost a lot less than the one from the magazine, but took awhile to make, didn't have much of a template to work with

how is it braced more then it was before....looks like you made a whole new mounting bracket so you could remount it somewhere thats not factory....

on the '79, it was 2 pieces of stamped steel bolted together and to the frame, the gear box would swing about 3 or 4 inches back and forth w/ the bigger tires on it, wasn't very sturdy, but w/ this one, its much more solid

this is similiar to what i was shootin for, but this one cost $90

looks like you did a good job...how long did it take you to make it and was it worth saving the $90(- parts) to do it yourself?

well i was able to use someone else's drill press, so counting that, about 4 hours total, and yea, it was worth it, mostly cause i can say i did it

mine also drops down about 1" so it makes my drag link almost parallel to the tie rod

You thinkin of running a brace from the box by the pitman arm to the frame rail on the other side too? I think those work well. That's all I have on mine. Before it, most of the play in my steering was actually coming from the box moving.

yea, thought about that too, but this was cooler, i'll probably end up havin to use one of those if i lock the front, but right now its still open, so this sould be ok
