3.8 Grand national??

Is a 3.8 from an 82 grand national the standard chevy bell housing?? Like the same as a 4.3 and a 5.7??? If it is and it's the right price it may find a new home with me:D

I think that it is a 60 degree bell housing. I'm not 100% sure though, but if so, a T700R4 from an S10 with a 2.8L will bolt up, and it uses the exact same internals as a regular 700. Like I said, not entirely sure it's 60 degree though. Fred???

definately don't want it, it's a carb motor and non intercooled... oh well, just thought it would be neat and be sweet if i ever got in the mud or sand....

If it's a carb motor, it's not from a grand national. I believe dieselboy is correct about that 2.8 bellhousing working. I'm not exactly sure if those trucks used a 200r4 or a 700r4, but I'm sure you could make something work. Or you could just be a man and buy a damn smallblock and have zero problems with part interchanging. :flipoff2:

It was the Grand Nationals that used the 200r4 (and broke them more often than not), and the junky little s10s used the 700s. Lots of sand rail guys take the 60 degree 700r4 and use them behind Northstar motors. Here's (http://www.chrfab.com/Transmissions.htm) a link.

it should be a buick olds pontiac cadillac bolt pattern. Its the same block design that buick sold to Jeep in the 60's, then Jeep sold back to buick.
