First off I have a 20 foot trailer with a pipe top. Got a really good deal on it. Anyway its 82 inches wide and the bronco is around 85 with my 37's. I have a set of 285's that makes it 80 inches wide. So I can get it on the trailer. I was thinking about cutting off the pipe top. The pipe top is part of the frame of the trailer so i am gonna have to add something back. Has anyone done this before?

i would be really careful....the pipe top adds a lot of strength to the trailer...i would think about selling and getting another trailer etc, or just dealing with it. I know when buying a trailer, the angle iron tops are light duty and the pipe top is heavier duty. - just my 2 cents

Cut the pipe top off. Widen the floor to the width of the fenders. And put the pipe top back on.

i agree with ryan, but also you need to make sure you put some angle and other bracing on top of the fenders so you dont crush them in when you drive over them....

could you brace it from the underside? That is how the car hauler's do it. Might be a little redneck to cut the pipe off and redo support to the underside, probably easier to buy one designed that way from the beginning.

i was thinking of jimmy's idea but i kinda like ryans idea as well. I need to get under a car hauler and take a look and see how they do it..
