I undoubtedly have almost no chance of getting out of work on Friday night - however, my boss was cool and said that Saturday should be relatively easy to find someone to take over for me. Supposably we're getting another new waitress who possibly, just maybe hopefully can cover on Friday ... we'll see.

With any luck, my shocks'll be in no later than Friday morning as well .... I'm tired of feeling like I'm driving a damn boat all the time.........hmm...guess I'd better get around to putting that front driveshaft back on sometime, too...

Anyone Leaving Friday-

We are tenatively meeting at Home Depot Parking lot at 3 o'clock pm on Friday afternoon. WE should be leaving around 3:15. Be gassed up and ready to go by then.

Assuming this time is cool with krebs, the group will include krebs in his blazer, knoeller and his cellphone pulling his bronco, and grayson in the rover.

We will be driving around 65 mph so if you are a speed demon dont bother waiting for us.

Anyone else is welcome to show up but if you arent ready at 3:15, sorry about your luck

Hensel turned in his info because the trip isn't completely out of the picture, but highly unlikely... although I wouldn't want to disappoint an audience.

the fact that I haven't done much prep for clayton... gotta get the bumpers done, just came from mack and got more stuff for brackets... might tackle a few points of oil leakage also (front seal and pan gasket).

I hate to miss it, but this stuff needs attention and I haven't had time for it. I will see you suckas on the trail... eventually.

Unless you have worked it out with other people you need to bring your own crap...

I'm going to try to get firewood tonight, there is 45 acres of woods where the blazer is but i still have to pack it up and do 4 hours of driving tonight. I'll have to see if I have time

Chadnutz
10-02-2003, 07:56 AM
I've got plenty of large pieces of oak if yall want to bring and ax and get drunk and split them....

$5-10 is all I ask. :flipoff2:

Doug Krebs

I'll pitch for that. That way I dont' have to mess with the chainsaw in the dark!!

fbronco86

ryan is bringing some wood also but his is free. plus there is always wood around the river.

Doug Krebs
10-02-2003, 08:52 AM
Does he have enough for friday night?? I guess we are going to get their in day light so we will have time to look. Around eagle rock there is usually only real little stuff. Now down the river you can find plenty...

fbronco86
10-02-2003, 09:21 AM
yeah i think he has enough for friday night? koldpecker how much wood do you have.

Doug Krebs
10-02-2003, 09:45 AM
I was looking at the map and decided we have been stupid about driving there, tell me what you think. Do our normal route to get to 29 but instead of turning where we normally turn look at the route in purple. Our usual route is in yellow. Unless people need to go through town for something I think purple is much easier and faster. If we needed gas or something just fill up in burnett. What y'all think??

eight
10-02-2003, 09:54 AM
I'll bring some firewood. Still got some of that wood that's got a trip to new mexico on it since they didn't let us have a fire. But still bring yall's stuff. Good firewood's getting scarece out there.

No your on crack, Sat. night is the most fun. People get drunk, etc... **** school... Some how I graduated while not with the best GPA, but that only matters for your first job. Right??

TXsizeK5
10-02-2003, 10:14 AM
Haha alrite then ill make arrangements to take care of that **** on friday and just leave on saturday in the AM with austin's group. Is Llano wheelin' pretty tough? Much breakage?

Doug Krebs
10-02-2003, 10:19 AM
Llano is evil... It has clamed 1 shaft from me and front bumper. Others have been stuck for hours, swamped their **** so it won't run...

It seems like when no one is having a problem it's a great time, when one person starts getting into trouble we are up till 4 AM...

It's one of my favorite places just because the camping is good and you can swim.

JeepPhisherman
10-02-2003, 10:41 AM
So who's got some decent driving instructions if I don't end up heading out with a group. I checked the maps but I dont know exactly where in Kingsland we're going.

Doug Krebs
10-02-2003, 11:00 AM
If you look ~ 10 posts above this I posted a map. The read x marks the spot where we go into the river. Eagle rock is North up the river (where we camp). If you're coming at night, going by yourself, and have never been I suggest waiting for someone or contacting someone that is already there. It's a little tricky getting to eagle rock at night...

Take 47 out of town to 21. Take 21 into Caldwell and turn right on 36. take 36 all the way until it dead ends into 79. Go west on 79 until you hit IH35. go north on IH35 like 2 exits to hwy 29 and go west on that. take 29 all the way thru Burnet and Buchanan Dam. You'll hit a 4-way stop @ the intersection of 1431 where you'll turn left. Stop at the liquor store to get beer b.c. Kingsland is dry. then continue down 1431 until you see an intersection w/ flashing yellow lights, it should be 3404. turn right and follow that down until you see a bridge and sand and water and stuff. you're there. avoid the locals at all costs.

10-02-2003, 01:55 PM
And once you get there, you're gonna go right. Up the river. Make sure you stay in the river's banks, that doesn't mean in the river. The local *******s are watching from their hideouts in the bushes and will have a game warden there in 2 minutes to get you a ticket.

Doug Krebs
10-02-2003, 02:02 PM
Anyone want to bring a little TV??? We could watch the game on saturday night. I have an inverter but I dont' know what kind of reception we would get out there. I'm sure my optima's could run it for a while. We'd need a tv with bunny ears.

Doug Krebs
10-02-2003, 03:56 PM
Oh well I'm out!!! Go home and pack... head to Tarkington to get the blazer, then to Livingston to get the winch, then finally to College Station. Over 4 hours of driving just tonight!! Anyone needs me 281-235-5039. See ya'll tommmorow!!!

no....stay off the banks....there are purple markers that designate the property lines. if you cross one of them you can get up to a $500 fine for "agricultural trespassing". been there, dont that. from the main beach cross into the center of the river and stay there until you get to a large sand hill with a big damn rock on top. that's eagle rock, we'll be camping there.
