Ben97XJ

We told everyone to stay in the riverbed. This guy (I forgot his name) said he had been there many times before. He drove around a long time on the bank, he even drove over to somebody barn. We could see him from where we were wheeling. It was obviously that he was tresspassing

Chadnutz
10-05-2003, 08:28 PM
So did they slap him with a nice ticket?

jerryg79
10-05-2003, 08:33 PM
don't really know, he bailed right after that and we were still out wheeling

Hopefully this didnt leave a bad taste in his mouth about the club, but I cant say that any of us should take blame for it either

Nix gets outta boot camp Nov. 14 or some time around there. I'm hoping that he'll have enough time to make a run down there before they ship him off to Florida for a year.

My Carnage: I cut the sh!t outta my thumb jumping onto the back of Kate's truck to avoid getting wet. A band aid and some duct tape fixed it right up though.

Duct tape, that and Wd40, the only tools you'll ever need.

If it moves and shouldnt, use duct tape. If it doesnt move, and it should, WD-40.

Yes 10 bolts snap when you try to make your posi a locker by pushing the brake!!!

Also I think the worst is that weird knock in David's engine after him and Jimmy were racing. Damn near a brand new vortech 4.3. It was so full of water it wouldn't turn over with all the plugs out. Not a good situation at all.

Guess we won't know until he breaks down the motor.

one of the coolest things this weekend was when krebs did the fire trick to get his spare back on the rim. It scared the crap out of all of us newbies.

Too bad you didn't see the fire trick when i blew it off the second time... worked the first time, then before i could get air in it kopecki leaned on it and knocked it off. Then all the oxygen was used and I couldn't get it to work again. We eventually just used plain air to get it back on the rim. With the ground helping the bottom and pulling on the tire in a few spots we got it seated.

And yes... kopecki was right

Inspection today turned up a broken motor mount, a cracked skid plate, and a stretched yoke on the passenger side stub shaft. As soon as I receive my fortune I'll start hunting for a 60. The driver side with the fully welded in joint held up nicely. Got some white oil in the front diff, and water came out of the u-joints when I greased them.

Newbies, grease and check the oil in everything.

And David had some bent rods, so I guess he gets the prize. The thing still idled smoother than my 258 though.

no david old man with the jeep with a 4.3 motor in it w/ 2000 miles on it.

He told us at the meeting last night he bent three CONNECTING RODS and the reason that he couldnt turn it over because one of the rods was hung up because it was bent so bad, but the it "self-clearanced" so it was ok.

It needs at least some new pistons too. The piston is what self clearanced when it hit the crank shaft.
