i've wanted to start a thread like this for the longest time, just been too lazy to scan the old pics, but since blake started one on Lonestar i figgered i'd do it here and see what kinda trouble it could stir up. Looking thru my pics makes me realize i dont have very many recent wheeling pics, wish i could get out more.

my very 1st wheeling trip

here it is, think I might have put a coat of wax on at this point, circa 1999 or so.(has it been that long!?!) This is with the 31 off brand A/T's and the trailer powerwinch that someone put on there from wal-mart. It did have carpet and a lot less body damage back then though.

this is spring break 2002, lower proving grounds in Moab. This is right after the Springover, but before the winch. This is also the reason I thought that my carb could run on an angle, all I was seeing was sky...

I'll get in on this when I have more time... but what I do want to comment on is Flem's cute little collage of pics. that's what I think would be cool for future ROTMs.

okay I'm ready to go, but how do I put multiple pics in a post?
Do they need an http: to do that?

AgDieseler
11-19-2003, 07:33 PM
Yup. You need to host them through webshots or something, then reference the URL in the text using the IMG button. Make sure they're the right size when you load them onto webshots though, or they will probably be huge on the thread.

TXsizeK5
11-19-2003, 08:08 PM
yeah you need the whole address http://www.bla bla bla.com

and put it between the tags, [ img ] [ / img ] (without the spacing)

I dont think you can remote link from webshots.

Violentv8toy

just attach em. They arent multiple in a post...but oh well.

Bought in the summer of 2000...stock 1985 regular cab, short bed, 31x10.5 street tires

uglyota
11-20-2003, 01:19 PM
drove it for about a year and almost flipped it wheeling, so gave it a little lift and 33s

Got a job and got tired of rain coming through the windshield, so I bought the chevy, and while I was trying to sell the yota, I found this:

uglyota
11-20-2003, 01:22 PM
another view....this kid hit a stump doing 50, ripped off the front suspension, hit a telephone pole with the bed, and sold it to me for $500. Sold the bumpers for $300, hubs for $50, and tranny for $150, and I got a free cab!

uglyota
11-20-2003, 01:23 PM
so I did this

the bedliner was all that was holding the bed together, so this is what's left

2" lift on Jerry's 33" Mud Kings - as most people that are currently in the club first saw it:
http://www.texasoffroad.net/albums/lonestar/album358/jeep.sized.jpg

I sold those tires and wheels, got ready to take the lift off, scraped all the stickers off, and cleaned the carpet thinking we were going to trade it in. I think I got offered $2500 trade-in for a 4 year old Jeep, so I kept it, left the suspension alone and found another set of black wheels and 33s:
http://www.texasoffroad.net/albums/lonestar/firstday/firstday5.sized.jpg

After almost two months of suspension work and trying to redesign and eliminate what some call "the best thing Jeep has ever designed":
http://www.texasoffroad.net/albums/lonestar/album358/MVC_258S.sized.jpg

As it sits now after a few offroad trips and some road driving has settled the suspension some:

Shaggy

it may be sad that it isnt wheelin' but it has 39.5" IROKs, dana60 and 10.25 under it now and a beefed up new frame... i think it will wheel one day again... i am gonna need to move it out of storage and to my new house so i can finish it but that will require some reorganization of all that crap in there... not the most exciting thing in the world

oh and in that top picture it wasnt 5 min later that i broke a rear yoak and u-joint followed by a front shaft, then another rear u-joint, along with a front u-joint and then tore my steering off i believe 2 times... i also had to be winched because i had stuck a rediculously huge rock under my huge rear bumper... needless to say i held the group up a little
