I need a rearend for my K5 blazer. It had a 10 bolt with 3:73s in it but it broke (to put it nicely). A 12 bolt will work too im assuming as long as it has 3:73s in it. I would prefer another 10 bolt. It doesnt have to be the entire rearend either. I have axles and housing. I just need the ring, pinion, spyder gears. It needs to be a 6 lug too. Email me or post a reply with anything you have.

you mean people are willing to pay money for 10 bolts? Hell I didn't think the scrapyards even wanted them.

hit the junkyards, lots of them around

Fixing a 10bolt? isn't that like putting a band-aid on a freshly amputated leg?

Fixing a 10 bolt is kind of like being Anne Heche, it seems like a good idea for a while until you realize your NOT GAY!:flipoff2:

yes, 1/2 rear ends are better left to mini trucks and jeeps...not 1/2 tons that get wheeled. i happen to know where there is a perfectly good 14 bolt for sale (link) (http://www.tamor.org/forum/upload/showthread.php?s=&threadid=716) that even happens to have 3.73s AND a "locker" in it. put that in and convert the front. if you find some 8 lug conversion stuff for the front, you let me know and i'll even go pull it for you. ;) it'll be my good deed for the year.

Thanks for the offer and as much as i would love to have a 14 bolt with a locker in the rear I just need to put a 10 bolt back in it. I actually have the blazer for sale and now the rearend went out of it. The old rearend is already out of the truck. And the truck isnt in college station anyway, its in Glen Rose, TX. If you know anyone that might be interested in the blazer let me know. Im going to post it for sale on the tamor forum as soon as its up and running.

Thanks but that is a 10 bolt front with 8 lugs. I need a 10 bolt rear. Unless you meant i could buy it and the 14 bolt FF. I am trying to spend as little as possible. If all else fails i may have to do that though.

if you need a 10 bolt rear, why dont you go to a junk yard and pull one out of any friggin 1/2 ton chevrolet in the damn place. Im pretty sure that there are probably 40 of them in college station junkyards right now. You want me to go pull one for you, i'll charge you twenty bucks over what they charge me:D

But you said that you only needed ring/pinion/carrier/spider gears....10 bolts are all the same. Front axle rear axle, no matter.

Wait a second...you're gonna kludge a K5 together and sell it, so you can put some dents in your new Dodge, while a full floating rear axle and an 8-lug front (for a machine that actually wheels well) stare you in the face? Don't mess with the daily driver, man...wheel the blazer!

Seriously, don't try to wheel a cummins... Thats like trying to waterski off the titanic in Lake Houston. Tell you what, you can pull my blazer with your dodge and I'll let you wheel it. You pay when you brake it... I'm not talking dents, it has plenty of those... I'm talking axleshafts:D

That way you can save money and build a rig worth a crap.

I may have what you need. $25. It's a front so I'd just pull the gears/carrier. I should know the gear ratio tomorrow but it will be 3.73 or 4.10. I also have a 14 bolt ff for $150.

I have those 8 lugs that Austin needs if he can tell me for sure that he will pay me $150 for them or I'll just sell them to a guy on sunday.

10 bolt gears are 4.10.

Outers are mostly junk. If there are any parts you need they're cheap. I guess you could use the knuckles ( pass side non flat top) and maybe the spindles are good. Backing plates are OK. Calipers will work as cores, you'd need new rotors. Will need all new bearings.

Ugly is a cool guy, I supply him with most of his crack, oh i mean yota parts :D The only problem is he is so damn slow. Come on ugly, get that hooptie together and lets go beat on it. I got a place an hour from here where you could give it a test run, if ya don't mind gettin a little wet and muddy.

I thought they were worth $150 when I thought the were good. Now they're cheaper. $50. You get everything from the knuckle out, including the knuckles, no stub shafts. As far as good parts go it's just the knuckles, backing plates, and spindles. You will need all new bearings, new hub/rotor assemblies ($71 each at napa), and new calipers (About $20 each, old ones good for cores). Not sure if ford stub shafts will work with these. I think your hubs will work.

Didn't do much wheelin around Idaho Springs...did Lefthand some and went up behind Horsetooth Mt. park, crystal mt, etc that I could do in an afternoon.
Climbing is what I did I did with 99% of my time there.
Tried to mix wheeling and biking and climbing trips to Moab a few times a semester.
not to be an a$$, but there was a really good flame and hijack session going on, and we're ruining it with chitchat. Wait...nevermind.
Try this:

No one has a 10 bolt with 3:73s? I could swear that someone said they were like french whores in france. I must have read that post wrong. If all of you really want to see me wheel the blazer give me about $2000 to pay on my Dodge and i can keep the blazer. Then ill go for the 14 bolt ff w/ locker and something bigger for the front too. I would love to keep the blazer if i could, but i just cant afford it.

if you go to a junk yard there will be one under most every 1/2 ton chevy in the place. If i were you i would just pull the first one i see that is in good shape. Who cares if the gears match up, if you are selling it, just tell them to take it in the dirt before they put it in 4-wheel drive....Whats that old saying "let the buyer beware"

I could probably fit a jeep or a 'yota in the bed of the dodge. The blazer doesnt fit (already tried it). I have 10 bolt rear but it has 3:08 i think (I know its not 3:73).
