first trip of the spring semester will be to katemcy rocks in mason, tx the weekend of february 7-8.

signup at the katemcy page (http://katemcyrocks.com/). the lhor kids have more signed up right now. we can't let them forget whose club is bigger and better.

it's like 3.5 hours away. all types of wheeling and plenty of it. if nothing's changed cost is $40 for the weekend and includes camping friday and saturday night and wheeling saturday and sunday.

there's plenty of pics on that site if you want to look through them.

Manditory minimum vehicle requirements to wheel at Katemcy Rocks:
1. properly anchored tow hooks front and rear
2. seat belts for all vehicle occupants
3. a properly anchored roll bar, preferably a roll cage anchored to the frame

I dont have a roll bar on my truck.

I've got a ghey chrome one that bolts to the bed, but its not really worth a crap....so do i need a rollbar?

aggiemudman
12-08-2003, 02:04 AM
what if we dont have a rollbar? i wouldnt do very much serious stuff anyways, just have some fun.

froader03

Out of curiousity...is there a LHOR/TAMOR rivalry?

froader03
12-09-2003, 08:05 PM
only a healthy one of course... everyone knows we have more members/rigs and better members/rigs/website/forums.

not to mention we dominate wheeling by day and drinking by night.

nice picture mario, how many ponies is that scary engine in the picture putting out?

Violentv8toy
12-10-2003, 04:29 AM
I'm thinking probably about a solid 250...it might be higher than that I really don't know much about the engine. Supposedly its out of a camaro and its got a few go-fast goodies in it. Its got edelbrock carb/intake/free flow exhaust that i know of. It will get up and go though.

Its actually kind of a crappy picture but its the best i've got right now since the rest are really bad cause its so high and had 33s on it. Oh well...as soon as the tranny is in and the hood is back on and i get rid of my ghetto y-steer i wont be so scared to drive it around. (speaking of which i need my knuckle from cody):D

alright, the event is more than half full... remember to get signed up if you haven't already. we've got a realy good group going at this point, but I know we can get more. this is going to be a lot of fun so if you absolutely cannot get your rig out there I still advise catching a ride with someone (remember you only have to sign up on the katemcy sight if you are driving on the trail).

EDIT: is not having a front locker gonna hurt me alot? Is most the area dual locker terrain? I was gonna buy a locker today, but I decided to hold myself back and buy those book things instead since i go to A&M to laern.

Ratbastard (from Lonestar) has to be around to put you up. He hadn't updated for a while, but I think he did yesterday, so you might check again.

That Kia is actually supposed to be on solid axles by the end of the month. It did pretty well (for a Kia) before, so it might be interesting to see after the axles are in. He posts on Pirate and Lonestar a lot. I think his screen name is fledgling666.

i am gonna need some help getting the bronco ready for the trip if i am gonna make it... i need to pull the pan on the tranny and see if we can stop the leak, and i need to locate a part for the passanger shaft in my ttb so that i have 4wd not 3wd... i think that is all i need other than hacking off the rear bumper... if anyone wants to help give me a call i am getting pumped for this now

Shaggy

I also need some blockhugger headers so everyone keep an eye out.

yeah that new one that coleman makes is awesome, if you turn it over just a little bit it shuts it all off and it has like a grill on the front to keep it from touching anything.... run it for like 15 and it should stay good for awhile, if its still too cold i think derik mentioned sharing a bench seat :flipoff2:

I can bring a bottle of propane and a burner. I've got a decent size pot too that's not cast iron but it has a glass lid and will work unless somebody has somethin better.

For this run is there a set time/event that everyone is going to start wheelin, like in Clayton? Or is it just whenver you want to go? How long does it take to do an easy or fairly decent trail?

Aggie Highway can be done in a few hours. It's an easy trail that most everybody can run.

actually i will be to, sorry to the normal crew i run with, but i have a few friends coming up from SA that have never wheeled before, well one has kinda, he has a tj with long arms and is locked but is pretty conservative about his jeep

also my rear driveshaft has some angle issues that i have to deal with so sorry to those that want to see me break something but its not gonna happen this trip.

i would, but i don't think my drive shaft will fit in there, he'd still have to get a cv shaft to fit his, but if he wants it i reckon we could pull it off tonight

Badass trip. Not too much carnage. Even the LHOR kids were pretty cool. Turns out that propane is highly flammable.

I'll start a new thread for pics.
