Anybody heard about "engine electrolysis"?
My truck has it. It has to do with the engine getting an electrical charge and in turn charging the fluids which eat away at the radiator, heater core, water pump...

I put in a new heater core and in four days it already had a hole eaten it. That's after I changed all the fluids. They say a complete engine swap won't even fix it..it will get charged too.

I heard it's like cancer, no cause and no cure.

that sounds like a bunch of horse**** to me "no cause no cure" AND an engine swap wont help? wtf? i did a project in high school about electrolysis (not the hair removal kind)....all you should have to do is add a ground strap here and there or check the existing ones, but extra wont hurt. engine to frame. engine to cab. cab to frame. use big wire. you probably just got a bad heater core.

a quick google search found these sites:

http://members.shaw.ca/autocheck/electrolosis.htm

actual info, and confirming my theory of a bad ground.

http://www.smartmaintenance.com/RAD%20CAP.htm

looks like the dummy fix talked about in the article.

and heres a 3rd article that talks pretty in depth about it, how to test, and how to fix.

good luck.

umm yeah

ford diesels get this bad. its gets bad enough it will eat through your cylinder walls. go to a place where they work on big trucks and they have that stuff to put in.
