i know this is a dumb question but what are the best places on a tahoe to place the jack when lifting the truck to say change a tire? can u just put the jack anywhere under the body or will it mess the body up? i know u could put in under the bumper but if u have the stock bumper, do u need one of those bumper lifter things? any help would be nice.

Don't get one unless you have full replacement bumpers.

so should i just get a regular floor jack to jack up a lifted vehicle? it would just be to change a flat.

Or if you want to use it on the trail get a bottle neck jack.

i would go with a bottle jack, since you prolly have one that is stock for staceys tahoe and just have someone weld like a six inch metal piece on the bottom of it, we did this to one of my frinds jack and it worked great and real cheap, or just carry around a few chunks of wood.

Sear's also has the smaller floor jacks that come in cases that are convenient to keep in the back of a vehicle or under a back seat.

Absolutely right, you'll tear up your body trying to lift that pig by the sheetmetal...but if you don't have a hi-lift, do get one.

Cheapest I've found is at Tractor Supply. Buy the Hi-Lift brand (powdercoated, zinc-coated hardware), not the cheapo.

I like scissors jacks better than bottle jacks, but that's just me. My 97 gmc truck came with a burly one. Probably find one at a junkyard

I would have to say that 2 high lift jacks do great when you are buried in pea gravel up to your doors at Llano. :)

they work great for moving the broke down parts truck with no steering over 2 feet in the driveway too... watch out or you can loose a body part or two though
