Does anybody have or know of any junkyards around that have a toy hub for sale? One of mine is mangled and needs to be replaced. According to Scott, all the toyota Manual hubs are interchangeable and identical.

I have a few extras, but I need to find out why the ones I am running right now are not unlocking.

Are the red ones supposed to be stronger than the blue ones?

I asked that too. Scott says they are identical. Let me know if you can part with one of those? Mine is apart & off right now, so it would be real convenient if I could find one quick.

Would it kill you to wait until this weekend?

The chances of finding one in a junk yard are slim to none...

No, but I will have to put the old (non-working) hub back on as I am driving it to Austin this Friday for the weekend. Regardless though, I appriciate the help.

So you can drive it with this old hub, and just not engage it?

Yes. Or, how about this. I buy one of yours for $35 and if you end up needing it we go in together and buy a pair from Marlincrawler for $75 (or wherever if we can find it cheaper). I would like a spare anyway, but I can't get it here in time if I order on the web.

I'm pretty sure you have to switch out the internals to use an ifs hub on a solid axle, and everyone raves about the Aisins (the red ones), but I've never really heard anyone say anything bad about the ASCOs. Has anybody checked HWY 6 salvage lately? Called Toyota Heaven (maybe one of our D-town boys could pick one up)? Maybe even see if YotaYard (denver) would ship one 2nd day?
edit: missed the punch...slow typing

Scott told me the red & blue ones were identical and were interchangeable between IFS and Solid Axle. So now I am confused. Chadnutz, are yours IFS?

all from SFAs

I would like it to be replaced eventually, as it is one of my spares.

Either that or you get new ones and return it.

Well then that should work. Give me a call 574-4802

You'll be aight
FYI (I think) Aisins came on both SAs and ifs, I think the solid axle versions are taller ( ), but only the body is different, and the body's not what blows up...so you just switch internals. I think only older (pre-84) SAs came with ASCOs (I think these are the blue ones)

(just to clarify...you want him to call you at 574-4802?) :flipoff2:

Nuts do you have it put together right. They ether work or they are blown. If you need one call and ask for Scooter tell him I told you to call. His number is 936-870-5856. He should have one for sell.

The only defference is the IFS one have a smaller shaft than he solid axla ones. Other than that all parts can be use between them.

From what I understand, he only needs the turning dial thingy. I have never had a problem after rebuild - (read: take apart, clean, put back together)
The turning dial thingy's are interchangable between IFS and solid axle. The inner parts of the outer hub require you to change out the part the axle slips into to be inerchangable because the IFS shaft is smaller.

I have only blown up one - in Mason - because the bolts were loose. The part that broke was the splined part that slips around the shaft.
