Not that anybody cares, but I will be putting a 93 clutch between the 85 engine and 87 transmission next time around. This requires the flywheel from the 93, as the pressure plate is bigger and has a different bolt pattern, and I think the flywheel might be a little heavier too, delivering more torque to the wheels. I calculate this to give me a 20% increase in surface area. Depending how you look at it, this could mean 20% longer between clutch changes (2 or 3 extra trips) or 20% more holding power. I think this will be a great complement to my 4 little torque rodents, and it will make the third used clutch I have installed (isn't that one of those things that you "just don't do?"). $50 on ebay compared to $100+ for a parts store replacement, and this is an upgrade!
Hope it fits!

I used a Centerforce II in my 84 4 runner and never had any problems with it slipping.

Was it $50?
I've heard lots of negatives on Centerforces in Toys, that you can't feather them, it's either "on" or "off." Would you agree with this?
Without gearing I need to be able to work it.

You can feather it, but when it grabs to grabs. All for my family are running Centerforce and we love them. Matt Marek has no problem and he does not have gears. I have never slip mine if my 91. I think it will last you a long time even without gearing. Matt has slip his a few time and he is running 36s so it should work good for you.

good to know...maybe I'll be able to afford one by the time the '93 clutch gets used up.

both of my feet are heavy, I guess?
Matt Marek runs 4.10s and stock single tcase? That's what I'm running with 33s

that wouldnt have anything to do with goin through them so fast would it? :flipoff3:

No he has 5.29s. I had to go back to 4.10. After 4 ring and pinions had to back to stoke. The high pinion elec. locker i go has 4.10 so it worked out well and wedded in the rear now.

Currently, if I wanna get power to the wheels and still make them turn slow, that sucker's burnin.
Also, since I'm open, if a tire cuts loose, I'll generally clutch it to try and get the power back to the good wheel. I'm sure that leads to a little premature clutch aging as well.
Wow...didn't sound that ghetto until I got it in print. I guess I need gears :(

or lock the axles up. I am welded and have no problems.

workin on the welded rear. Been too busy playin with someone elses truck lately. ;)
Not gonna lock the front until I can afford longs too. Gears are gonna happen when I have some money.
