So here is the new commuter, Karl found it for me down in beaumont, 1982 Honda CB900, 500 bones. It is going to get the same treatment as the last one, repaint the tank and side covers(I am thinking the same color as my truck), recover the seat, fix the little ****. It runs like a champ, has air shocks on the rear, and even has a hi/lo lever in addition to the 5 spd for serious highway cruising I guess, and it is fast as ****, or faster than piglet was anyway ;) I need a good name for it, so help me come up with one.

How about "Wing and a Prayer"
b/c of the Honda Wing on the tank.
CB= Cheap Bastard 900 (my favorite)
Or B/c it's faster you could call it Soui, Sewi, Suey? I don't know how to spell but what ever you use to call pigs.

It's hard to tell the badassness of the paint in those pics, but fred laid down some serious ****. It is Beluga Black, as in land rover black, so my **** won't stink now. The emblems got sandblasted then cleared, and look pretty pimp as well. The seat is getting redone this week, and then I just need a few hundred for tires, and then go over the mechanical. Maybe I should get a license to drive one of these things while I am at it.:) I did decide on a name, the "9 double O" I think Delilah would have been cooler, but whatever...

Beluga Black! ***! add a lucas ignition while you're at it. Why not Epsom Green, Blenheim Silver, Rutland Red, Chawton White, or Oxford Blue? My personal favorite would have been Savannah Beige. :flipoff2:

all of Land Rover's color's usually have to do/ or are named after a place in the UK. Ex. Kent Green or Blenheim Silver...Blenheim Palace. search Beluga and see what comes up.

Ok, it's a been a little while since the last update. I also kind of have mixed emotions about my little project in light of current events, but I think I will press on. Everything is together and it looks pretty badass for a $500 bike, with another $400 or so on top. I redid the brakes, put on the new Bridgestone spitfires, and burnt the piss out of my leg while trying to take it for a test ride. The thing that made me madder than smelling my own burning flesh though, is that somewhere in the buildup the gas cap disappeared. That is $60 I didn't want to spend, but hey at least it will be bling now. I still have to get insurance, registration, and a motorcycle license. The motor makes some interesting noises at idle, I think the clutch may slip a little, and I am sure the carbs need to be redone, so I will have to work on that. I want to ditch/modify the geeky turn signals, and try to update the brake light, but I am trying to be done spending money on it for awhile. I will post some pics tomorrow.

If it matters, I'm still planning on riding. Just with a little different attitude. I will forever be a helmet advocate though.

here's a pic of it together mostly, still got some work to do on the motor and front forks. Rear tire should be a little farther back, was re-re-doing the brakes in this pic. If I can quit doing stupid crap like working, working, or playing church softball with the bad news bears rejects :) ;) I might get something done...

i hope you were redoing the brakes b/c in that pic the front brake hose would get chopeed off by the spoke of the rim like a ginsu knife cutiing through tomatoes.

:gigem: :D :D fvck yeah! I just got done riding it for the last 30 minutes or so! It is amazing what 4 new NGK's and some 93 octane (instead of gas I stole out of the back of Brandon's mowing truck) will do! It still needs the front forks rebuilt, and I need to tighten/replace the cam tensioner, but other than that it runs pretty damn good. Time to sell!!! ;)
