We are trying to decide what we want the new buggy to look like. Take into consideration that it will have to be narrowed to fit the tube chassis. Here are pics of Hals new buggy to se what will need to be done.

going to have to go with the cooper or the Porche. I don't see the dual lights of the Jag making it in the space that we have to work with. I like th dual humps on the hood of the Turbo and I like the grill of the Cooper. I am going to go with the Cooper...

what chassis are you putting it on?
the mini cooper does have a cool front, especially with the hood scoop
is yours getting aluminum axles too?

We will be getting a twisted custom Chassis and no it will not have the currie axles. It will have a ls1, turbo 350 tranny, Atlas and axles to be determined.

The audi TT is to plain

subaru brat?
why does it have to look like something? Creative toobwork looks cool enough

We think it should look like something so it will stand out and for possible sponsorships.

Do you have the skins custom made? Or do you scour the junkyards after every comp?
Hal's are fiberglass, right?

How about a prowler? I like buggies with a hot-rod look; tilted-back windshield and cab, abrupt back.

Jason will take a real hood and cut it up to make a mold out of it. So if I mess it up I just call up Jason and order a new one.
We looked at the prowler but though these would work better.

These would stand out
Dunno if the ram hood would be too big, maybe try a dakota hood? Or since it's a chevy drivetrain, the colorado "scowl"? I don't think it stands out as much as the dodge though

Some good ideas but we want something different that has distinct lines that can be narrowed. So no american cars or ricers

would the cooper need to be narrowed? they're already small as ****. maybe could get enough body panels to actually make it look like a cooper rather than just the front end, if so that would be my vote.

The chassis at its widest point will be around 48" The front will be narrower than that So no matter what we use it will have to be narrowed.

is that bigger than a cooper? remember they are a MINI cooper(stupid british ****) i dont think there is anyway they are wider than 4 feet. throw on full body panels and a narrowed hood :gigem:

i guess i'll be the one and only vote for the S-type since scott denounced its potential in the 1st reply to this thread....i've always really liked the look of those cars, but if you do that you've gotta get the S-type R grille...its basically fancy expanded metal but is the signature of the R series (the performance package, that car, 390 HP) any of 'em i'm sure will turn out cool tho. glad y'all havent forgotten your roots and our opinion still matters now that you're getting into the big time. :gigem:

The S-type has a SWEET look and is very distinct - I just can't see it getting narrowed enough in the front to look right with the dual headlights.

We physically went and looked at a Prowler - the hood was a little too boring - no fenders either to blend into.

Pretty much all of the Chebbys, Fords, and Dodges have boring hoods that won's stand out much.

Another thing that you have to consider is the name of the buggy. For example: " The Matrix Buggy" (easy to say and remember) or "The Liberty Buggy" or "The HUmmer Buggy"

A "Dodge Truck buggy wouldn't work, but a "S-type Buggy" would, so would the "Mini" buggy - kind og like All-Pro's "Tiny" Buggy...

how about "the buggy that finished in the top five"

or maybe if thats not catchy enough how about this name:

"the buggy that was able to make it onto the trailer under its own power after the competition"

:flipoff2:

the cars suck, but the front ends might look interesting on a buggy...
how about a PT Cruiser?

American. I agree. I wouldn't get to high falutin' (sp?). What about a 300C or Crossfire frontend?

300C (http://www.chrysler.com/crossfire/index.html?context=300-index&type=top)

or

Crossfire (http://www.chrysler.com/crossfire/index.html?context=300-index&type=top)

OR, I know.... what about a Cruiser front end? :gigem:

i saw a prowler with front fenders on this weekend and thought that would look cool. if you could somehow mount fender struts to the knuckles and run fenders close to the front tires that would follow with articulation and steering. itd be something new.

i had mentioned that car to them becuase i to love that front end, i think they said it was to wide though.......i thought they chopped them anyways?

Matt Conlee

they are not looking to mount anytype of fender strut but are going more in the direction of a one piece front clip ( grill hood and fenders all one piece). No matter what vehicle they choose to represent the buggy is going to be awesome. And later after they trash this hood they can always go with something different for the next season.
