I can't see it real well, but I don't see any springs at all. Just a long bumpstop welded to the axle. Possibly a short coil spring held to the frame? Looks like a ramp champ. Not much real wheeling going on. But those are some sweet fender gaurds. :laughing:

That might be the kind of twin something beam setup the winner of the 2003 Top Truck Challenge (hummer looking buggy thing) has. Basically, the way it works is as lets say the front left tire is forced up, the left rear tire is forced down. The hummer thing had airbags though, that ranger doesnt have anything outside. It looks like he has something angling in though, could it be something like a gas powered shock mounted inboard?

Yes I was thinking that those were air shocks pointing in;
and holy bumpstops batman!
looks like a one-link (trailerball, graderball, whatever) setup but your picture sucks :flipoff2:

I like the suspension rear steer - it's enough to pitch the truck in a whole different direction :rainbow:

just realized that I can't figure out what that axle is...like a narrow rockwell without a pinion? Maybe a tractor axle?

ahh, see the sideways mounted upside down leafspring.... i always wondered if that would work

Really old vehicles had a leaf spring mounted transversely like that, but it was connected to the axle at both ends and bolted to the vehicle in the middle... I guess his bumpstops ride on that leaf at ride height and he just works with a whole lot of droop.

So is that a welded up TTB? If so why? Wouldn't it be more logical to swap in a solid axle..
