Shaggy

first thing i am gonna do is get the garage cleared out and move the chasie in... the tub/top is going in the back yard... next is to get all of the drivetrain put in and all the breaklines ran and what not... i am gonna need a couple (more like 5) volunteers to help me move the tub and then i can get the ball running on this project again

bburris
10-05-2004, 04:42 PM
What's keeping you from bolting the tub down as it sits?

william_ace
10-05-2004, 05:30 PM
probably wont fit in the garage. and i bet so he can have open access to the frame and make everything fit nice and tucked away.

Shaggy
10-06-2004, 11:10 AM

Shaggy
10-10-2004, 05:21 PM
i got a pretty damn good deal... lets just say i paid less than i was willing to pay... and the guy went down much more than i went up in the negotiation process

Shaggy
10-21-2004, 05:26 PM

well it is that time of the year... i decided to decorate

Shaggy
11-03-2004, 11:36 AM
i got a little done on the bronco last night but hit a stoppong point when i realized austin had my angle grinder backing plate on his angle grinder... i hit up lowe's and botco today and am back on the project...

i am moving the front hangers for the rear springs back ~2"... this will fix the problem i am having with my shackles

Shaggy
11-03-2004, 03:00 PM
well that didnt take that long at all.. here are a few pics... i think it turned out great... and it added a couple inches to my wheelbase

JB
11-03-2004, 03:38 PM
so is your rear shackle angle better now?

stx4wheeler
11-03-2004, 03:44 PM
hey tate why did you do this, if i remember right if your rear shackles have some angle like maybe 35-45 degree angle it allows better flex, i think by moving that you lost some down travel for sure. i dunno i could be wrong someone corret me.??

savvyaggie
11-03-2004, 03:46 PM

it was angled forwards not backwards before he moved it..

i think if it was left alone then it would of caused a reversal, right?

Sharpe
11-03-2004, 03:46 PM
Your frame looks like a bassboat. According to Mr. Foxworthy, rednecks are attracted to shiny objects.

eight
11-03-2004, 04:11 PM
The shackles were angled wrong before, it wouldn't have gotten any downtravel much. When he puts weight on it, it'll probably sit perfect now.

Shaggy
11-03-2004, 05:13 PM
yeah it was all messed up... they were at max forward sitting on level ground... it wouldnt have flexed at all... they are exactly where they need to be now

AggieTJ2007
11-03-2004, 05:33 PM
what did you use to paint the frame, it looks pretty slick and when I get my jeep appart I would like to paint the frame, just because

BigRedFord04
11-04-2004, 11:04 PM
see tate....i told you so. :flipoff2:

he actually only did the back half and then started second guessing himself, thinking about going over it w/ gloss black. while he was contemplating he left me and our neighbor buddy in the garage w/ 3-4 cans of the blue....needless to say, we made up his mind for him when he couldnt take any of the blue back. :gigem: its just sparkly rattle can that, i think he got at wal-mart.

The TAMOR Never See Trail award winner needs to be trail worthy.

I have gotten very little done on it in the past 6 months but what i have done is solved the tires hitting the leaf spring problem with getting some sexy 2" wheel spacers made at villas. I also have the np205 90% complete... and that is it i believe... what a good 6 months eh?....
I get done with my summer classes (all but an internet one) July 5th @ 9:35am so that is when I am gonna be hitting it hard.
I am gonna need some help here
complete np205
put body back on frame
rewire everything with new kit
put in interrior
build front clip and cage
build steering
send off box to get tapped for hydro assist(freebee)
retube cv driveshafts for new lengths
buy np203 gear drive and 203/205 adapter
get my baddood engine running(been sitting for about 16 months)
celebrate by rolling it on the first obstical it hits

idunno there is really a lot to do but it can be easily done
i am gonna be in a appartment next year and i really dont want to take longer than nutz to build a rig... how long did it take him?

07-05-2005, 04:18 PM
well sunday austin and I got the np205 together and bolted it up to the tranny to find out i have to make a new crossmember... not a big supprise... i then picked out two driveshafts from my pile and i just need to shorten the rear one 2.5" and the front about 3"... monday i picked out the gas tank i want to use from my junkyard... i decided to go with the 33 gal because i really dont think the 16 gal will be neirly enough and how is it saving weight if i have to carry jerry cans.... i cleaned it up and moched up where it was going to go... today i put it in having to fabricate clamps to keep it in place... i found out that there is a tiny little leak in it that i will repair later... turns out that it has had the leak for a long time and i never knew it... the old skid plate was full of gas soaked mud. I am now about to either do the crossmember or the driveshafts... dunno yet... that is all for now... feel free to come by but i dont really need any help at this point

Shaggy
07-05-2005, 06:09 PM
well i have the crossmember bout half way done... gonna take a grocery store and dinner break and then hopefully finish it tonight... depends if my neighbors mind the noise... i toasted the wiring to the garage plug... all the breakers are fine but it no work... chop saw takes too much power

Shaggy
07-05-2005, 08:01 PM
ok i am headed back outside to finish the crossmember and start on the driveshafts if there is time... prob not

Shaggy
07-05-2005, 09:56 PM
called it a night because i need to get a new chop saw wheel and it was too loud... made a few mistakes fabbing the crossmember but have figured them out... i think it is gonna turn out good

bburris
07-05-2005, 10:10 PM
Any pictures of the progress?

Shaggy
07-05-2005, 10:15 PM
i guess i could go outside and take some... give me a couple min

Shaggy
07-05-2005, 10:32 PM
ok the first picture is of the gas tank with the clamps on the frame. the second one is how low it sits under the frame and the third is the np205... ill put pics up of the crossmember when it is done

Doug Krebs
07-05-2005, 10:34 PM
you did twin stick the 205 right?

Shaggy
07-05-2005, 10:36 PM
well i havent built the shifter yet but yes twin stick.... front wheel burnouts i cant wait

bburris
07-05-2005, 10:37 PM
Are you going to hold off on the doubler for a while?

Shaggy
07-05-2005, 10:39 PM
here are the two spots you hook the shifters to

Shaggy
07-05-2005, 10:40 PM
Are you going to hold off on the doubler for a while?

yes for right now it isnt in my budget and it will be easy to just throw in and re-tube the driveshafts when the time comes for it

Shaggy
07-06-2005, 10:58 AM
ill be out in the garage working on it most of the day

Shaggy
07-06-2005, 01:13 PM
i just shocked myself (220) unpluging the welder... maby i should put in a functional on/off switch in the welder

Shaggy
07-06-2005, 03:05 PM
calling it quits for the day early... i have the crossmember fabbed up just need to add in some kind of bushings so the tranny can flex... i might be back out there later tonight after i have had some time to think about it or find something that will work

uglyota
07-07-2005, 10:22 AM

naw just leave your gloves on

Shaggy
07-07-2005, 12:07 PM
i decided it is easier and safer to unplug it from the wall not the extention cord... and gloves sounds like a good idea..

i have the crossmember all built and the bushings picked out all i have left on it is drilling the holes to put in the bushings and the holes to mount it to the frame. as well as the holes in the frame and painting it all purdy... i need to go get bolts also... this will actually take me the better part of the day... gosh i build things slow

Shaggy
07-07-2005, 06:50 PM

the top bushings may not last very long w/ that casting digging in. may try using something like a thick rubber mat or stacked mudflap material with a custom metal washer cut from tin or something.

or fender washers just like you have on the bottom

Shaggy

ya i thought about that when i looked at that pic... i have some washers i am gonna put in tomorrow after work

Sharpe
07-07-2005, 11:09 PM
That crossmember is simple, yet elegant. I really dig it. I almost wish I hadnt started on all the tube bending and **** I'm doing for mine but its too late to go back now! I may lose my $1 to you yet!

stx4wheeler
07-11-2005, 01:27 PM
i like the bushings on the crossmember, are those body bushings? Its coming together but what i can deduce from the second picture your are gonna have to stop if like the flintstones since you aint got no calipers...

Shaggy
07-11-2005, 07:47 PM
i have calipers they just are not on it... those bushings are the front two bushings that go on the front of the body but im not running a front clip so i found a good use for em... they are polyeurithane (sp?) and i think they will do

Chadnutz
07-11-2005, 08:48 PM
I like that crossmember. I need to make one like it for the front case, but I'm not that motivated. :flipoff2: I think you might want to look into putting some triangles near those corners. They may experience a lot of stress.

Shaggy
07-11-2005, 11:32 PM
i am pretty sure it is atleast ten times as strong as the stock crossmember

Shaggy
07-14-2005, 10:52 AM
you did twin stick the 205 right?

referring back to this... i am dumb and didnt know i had to do some grinding on the shift rail... so i am about to do this... shouldnt take too long... found a damn good webpage describing how to do it
http://ivanribic.clubfte.com/page2.html

Shaggy
07-14-2005, 01:12 PM
ok i got it all grinded and back together... i cant tell what is high and low range but i can put it in front wheel drive so i guess it is right :)

Shaggy
07-14-2005, 01:47 PM
i got the washers inbetween the tcase and bushings... looks better now... running to the ford house to get some ujoint straps for a 10.25 and then shortening a couple driveshafts.... does anyone have a thin walled 1" 5/16 socket i can use to put on the front yoak... it is just finger tight right now and i dont have a socket for it

JB
07-14-2005, 02:06 PM
I got a 1 5/16" socket, dunno if it is thin enough, but you can try it. I'm at the house.

Doug Krebs
07-14-2005, 03:31 PM
tate where the hell do you live now? Still on richards? I drove down the street and couldn't remember which one was yours, but I didn't see the bronco frame or your truck. The bronco frame looks like it's outside in pictures?

Shaggy
07-14-2005, 04:44 PM
i still live on richards... the bronco is in the garage... and i was at the parts store probably... finding a ujoint for the rear axle was a pita... there was one in the bryan hoe ryleys... and my spare will be in the cs store tomorrow

Shaggy
07-14-2005, 04:48 PM
now that i have all the proper u-joints and u-joint straps... it is time to shorten a couple driveshafts... hope i can get them done before the woman gets off work... she doesnt like me to only come in to eat dinner.... on a side note i cant remember the last time i cooked or ate out... i got a good woman

Shaggy
07-14-2005, 05:03 PM
when shortening a driveshaft what is easier...
a) cutting driveshaft at stock weld trim it and weld back up there
or
b) cutting driveshaft in the center trim it and sleve it with smaller tube)

StevenAg03
07-14-2005, 05:40 PM
Id Say Cut And Sleeve....but What Do I Know...

bburris
07-14-2005, 05:50 PM
I think people usually cut at the weld, but I've never actually done it...

Where's the Pollock?

Shaggy
07-14-2005, 07:46 PM
the first pic is of a fubared piece of my press... that should be not be bent... the second is of the front driveshaft in... the third is a pic of the driveshaft rubbing... afraid it wont work... and there isnt room for a cv shaft so i dunno what to do

AggieTJ2007
07-14-2005, 07:53 PM
you could always build a two peice front shaft with a pillow block so that you will have room for a CV

Sharpe
07-14-2005, 08:32 PM
I vote for clocking the 205 to get it away from the pan. Might require some crossmember modifications though. That driveshaft angle looks too steep for a regular joint so me thinks a CV is in order.

Shaggy
07-14-2005, 09:51 PM
im not clocking it... i dont want it any lower..
also i dont know what is ment by a pillow block... i dont think there is enough room for a 2 piece shaft... it is only 29" long

bburris
07-14-2005, 10:02 PM
I think he means a carrier bearing... but I think a CV is your best bet.

What series u-joint is that? If it's not a 1310 you might try to find measurements to see if a 1310 flange would work in place of that yoke, then run a 1310 CV front.

Sharpe
07-14-2005, 10:24 PM
I meant clock it up. Hypothetically it would move the output away from the pan.

bburris
07-14-2005, 10:27 PM
It looks to me like the driveshaft ears are rubbing on the yoke.

You may be able to grind some of that problem away, but I don't know how much I'd trust that as a long-term fix.

Shaggy
07-15-2005, 09:13 AM
as soon as i get some money the 203 is going in there and it will scoot it back and this problem will be no more

Mud King
07-15-2005, 09:59 AM
get tom woods superflex joints thats what he put in my front shaft so the ears wouldnt rub...

Shaggy
07-15-2005, 11:29 PM
sounds like $$... i am gonna try something on the cheap

eight
07-16-2005, 10:23 AM
Yea good choice on doing the doubler. Would be alot of work for that auto to spin the 39s with only a 205 and 4.10s behind it.

As for the crossmember/ujoint contact situation, find a piece of 4-6" pipe and saddle it into the tubing where it rubs, then plate the bottom of the drop down with 3/8-1/2" plate or so. If you don't plate the bottom, at least ad some sacraficial welds on the edges/corners, eventually they'll wear through, so better to do it now.

I'd cut the shafts in the middle and then sleeve them. But it looks you've allready got that part done.

Shaggy
10-10-2005, 01:24 PM
ok well my girlfriend moved back to san antonio and i dont think i want to waist all the extra time i have on school so progress will start again shortly.. the only problem is i dont know where i want to start... we will see what happens

Sharpe
10-10-2005, 01:41 PM
Make a list and number it, then strictly follow it. If you cant make yourself do that, then write down each individual job that needs to be done on little pieces of paper, put them all in a hat, then draw untill the thing is done.

agjohn02
10-10-2005, 02:35 PM
or just do like me, know what you want to do and work on whatever you feel like working on each day. it still gets done and you can adjust for parts availability and order of operations.

Shaggy
10-10-2005, 03:23 PM
i was thinking about it while in class and the first step is gonna be to make more room in the shop... this is something that i always have to do at each new location(this being #3 for this rebuild) next is going to be find hardware to bolt tub on, patch leak in gas tank, cut hole in tub for gas tank, then finally bolt the body down. one of my biggest concerns is that i STILL need a ford np203... i have been looking(not so activly) for over a year and have comeup with nada. another thing i should go ahead and do is send off my steering box to get drilled and tapped for hydro assist(i won a stage ii setup at tcc so this is a freebee)lots of stuff left but atleast i have all the time in the world. one of my missions this year is to get rid of ALL of the crap in my shop that i dont need and wont be going on the bronco... it all has to be gone before i move to san antonio in the summer

Shaggy
10-10-2005, 03:41 PM
I just called west texas offroad and all i need to do is go out to she shop and get the steering box and send it to them... so that is one of my goals for this week... maby even today

i was thinking about it while in class and the first step is gonna be to make more room in the shop... this is something that i always have to do at each new location(this being #3 for this rebuild) next is going to be find hardware to bolt tub on, patch leak in gas tank, cut hole in tub for gas tank, then finally bolt the body down. one of my biggest concerns is that i STILL need a ford np203... i have been looking(not so activly) for over a year and have comeup with nada. another thing i should go ahead and do is send off my steering box to get drilled and tapped for hydro assist(i won a stage ii setup at tcc so this is a freebee)lots of stuff left but atleast i have all the time in the world. one of my missions this year is to get rid of ALL of the crap in my shop that i dont need and wont be going on the bronco... it all has to be gone before i move to san antonio in the summer

I have a ford np203 haha

well i went to the shop for a little while today and got a little done... very little but some none the less... i messed with the dana60 calipers that i need to rebuild... i have the kit and it consist of a couple gaskets and whatnot but i cant figure it out. then i moved on to the steering box that i just got back... i dug through my random bolt buckets and only found two bolts... so it only has two and not three in it right now... next i moved on to see if i could get my old exaust back in without pulling the engine and body off... well the driver side went in with the highlift at may height on the body moving it away from the frame... it is just sitting in there not bolted up but it is where it needs to be. Luckily that side looks like it is gonna clearance the new crossmember and driveshaft and all... so next i go to the tricky side... i dont know if many of you know but headers wrap around the starter really tight on the pass side... everytime i have ever had to change the starter i have had to unbolt the exaust... well the problem has gotten worse... when i boxed the frame i took away the manovering room to get the header back in... so if i wanna get it in i am either gonna have to but the weld on the header to the tube or i am gonna have to hoist the engine up and when i try that im still not sure it even will fit seeing as i took away that c frame space and boxed it... well that is all i have for today... did you enjoy my one long sentence :)

to rebuild the calipers you take them off, then put something like a wood 2x4 in the caliper after you have undone the break lines and taken it off the vehicle, and removed the pads. now take air compressor and blow it into the hole where your brakeline use to go. be careful they will shoot out with quitea bit of force. then check for any rust or pitting in the cylinder where the piston came from. reinstall pistons and seals and boom your done. but i would jsut buy new calipers rebuilding them aer kinda pain in the arse, and if the seal doesnt get set right you run possibilities of it leaking and you go to do it again.

Sharpe
11-21-2005, 03:13 PM
I would rebuilt them. Chevy D60 Bendix calipers are $60 each after the core charge and I imagine Ford's dual piston calipers are even more.

Shaggy
11-21-2005, 05:44 PM

i installed the driverside shock mount... it looks pretty damn good... and i modified the bottom mount for the pass side i just need to clean it up and weld it on then i can drill the holes and mount the top side...

i dont have power enough to run the air compressor in the shop so would someone mind if i brought the calipers by their house and get them apart?

ok well i had a long ass post but my buzing ass hit the wrong button and lost it so here is the short run

headers are in -rest of exaust (open headers redneck baby)
pass side top shock mount is installed to match yesterday's driverside
just need to weld in bottom mount on pass side(the reason driver and pass side are different have something to do with driver side using square u bolts and pass side using round ones.

11-23-2005, 07:40 PM
well today i finally installed the new body mounts and bolted the tub down. after that i put the last piece on the 205 that i was missing and austin sents me a couple months ago. i installed shocks from my shock pile and have decided that none of them are long enough for where they are. The ones i have up front will probably be long enough for the back so i just need some longer front ones. I also found out that since i raised the tranny when i built the new crossmember that it didnt quite clear the tub. so a hammer came out and it is flat against it pushing up on the floor boards. I can deal with that but i also am gonna have to clearance it where the transmission linkage is at because right now you cant shift it out of neutral. i am also gonna have to do some clearancing where the rear driveshaft meets the tcase. but it will all pay off in the end because my tcase only hangs like 1" below the frame rail. I will never hit it. I think that is all I got done today.

Shaggy
12-03-2005, 10:24 PM
well yesterday i didnt really get anything done... a lot of bull****ting and i got the shockmount welded on... all shock mounts are done ... just ready for shocks now...
today was a little more productive, I installed the steering column and gas and break pedals. and also the driver seat. I patched the rear bumper that was dammaged and put it on... it is just held by 2 bolts right not instead of 4 because my drill was being evil and i broke 2 5/8 drill bits... i might have fubard the shank on my dewalt but not sure yet... it also killed garrets 69$ reamer... so i think it might be my drill... i am gonna look into the warrenty on the thing... hell it was over 200$... oh i also put the gas filler neck on... i wanted to mount it in the factory place but gravity worked against me on that one and i didnt wanna cut it out and move it up and deal with getting it beadlined again... so it is just sticking up in the back... i am enjoying my progress lately because it seems like things are coming together... i cant work on it tomorrow because i have a group project and a self project that the professor says takes 10 hours and also a test to study for... fun day tomorrow

peace out

Sharpe
12-13-2005, 07:23 PM
Chris, the isolator allows two batteries to be charged off one alternator. It keep them seperated so if one dies it doesnt discharge the other one. Thats a damn good price for any D60 caliper, mine cost $60 each and they're just the bendix ones, not the fancy dual pistons.

Shaggy
12-20-2005, 05:45 PM
how big of an alternator should i get... I have heard that Rick's Starter can beef up alternators but havent called them yet. stock alternator is 55amps and i think i wanna run something like 100amps or so... Jimmy didnt you upgrade to something blingy in the 100 amp range?...

Sharpe
12-20-2005, 07:00 PM
On a gasser with some accesories I would run at least 100 amp. On the burban I had a 140 amp cause I had a stereo too but the 65 amp stock alternator in pigpen seems to keep up fine, but my motor doesnt use any electricity, just the fans do.

there is like a 9$ difference between the regular one and the truck one but all the details read the same

StevenAg03
01-03-2006, 11:29 PM
the truck one should be a longer handle...

Sharpe
01-04-2006, 02:00 AM
The truck one doesnt have a longer handle it has a little base that elevates it off the floor a few inches. I'm using a regular B&M megashifter and I have to lean over a little to reach it but fabbing a bracket to raise it wouldnt be hard. I dont know when I'm coming back, probably the 13th-14th. I like the B&M ratchet style. Garret insisted on buying a gate style that cost twice as much so maybe he can explain why he likes it.

BMFScout
01-04-2006, 09:19 AM
I thought about getting a ratcheting shifter, but I like the idea of being able to get into neutral with the slap of the shifter, not having to bump it a couple of times to do so.

Shaggy
01-04-2006, 08:29 PM
I went to home depot today and picked up a soldering iron and some heat shrink thinking i might start on wiring... well i didnt... that damn kit looks like it is gonna take plenty of planning and a full day atleast to make it as neat as i want it. Then i modified the front headlights and moched them up. Just need to weld them in and clip out space in the grill for them. I think it is actually gonna look pretty sweet narrowed. I then began to ponder the location of the dual batteries and other stuff and have decided to mount the batteries, isolator, power inverter and pretty much all underhood wiring in the toolbox. Anything that you would hard mount to a fenderwell is gonna be mounted via carpet wrapped board as you would see at any custom amp. stereo place... and it is gonna be mounted in the toolbox. I figured that with all that stuff properly installed in there that it would be safer from the weather and whatnot. Only downfall is less space for tools and spare parts. But hell the bronco is still fullsize there is other places to mount spare parts and whatnot.

I found a baddood alternator 200amps that would bolt up but am not willing to shell out 300$ so i am gonna go with a sexy black powder coated 140amp one... i also found a high performance powersteering pump, the b&m truck megashifter, and some bushings that will actually work for my transmission crossmember... but i am not ordering it tonight... i am gonna wait for davido to let me know if he still needs to piggyback something from summit

So I take it the waterbucket alternator didnt work? I have a plain ol' Jegs linelock, it cost $40 and works great. Since it wasnt a big investment I can say it was worth it just for doing burnouts in the street in front of my house. I did use it for an e-brake at Clayton, since my mechanical one isnt hooked up yet. I know they bleed off over time but mine seemed to hold fine for an hour or so at a time.

i just ordered a ford np203 gearbox, doubler, and tripple stick shifter from ORD and earlier i ordered wagner rotors, calipers, and pads for the 10.25

Shaggy

the guy that knew the hell what was going on at ord called me today and i talked him into drilling the bolt holes for the 205 so that it is clocked 2"... flat with the 203. said they should have it shipped out by the end of next week.

well i went to pick up the disc stuff for the 10.25 today and luckly i opened up both boxes with the rotors up... one of them was mislabled and was a 5 lug one. so tomorrow i get to go back and pick up the other 8 lug one they ordered... fun stuff.
Then i went out to the shop and mostly just cleaned today. It was getting pretty sloppy in there and i couldnt really work. Only work i got done was finally putting on the spark plug wires. i had to look in the book because i forgot the firing order. Turns out i feel dumb because it was like the easiest one there is. so for now i am just sitting around waiting on parts mostly, because i dont feel like installing all of the ones i have sitting around already

well today was tear down old hard work. I pulled off the rear tires planning on taking the drum breaks off but i put my wheel spacers on with an impact and dont have proper power to run the compressor at the shop so i moved on. Then i tore apart the front 60. Got it all apart and knuckle off to send off for crossover. the stubshaft on the driver-side has nasty splines which made taking the hub off very interesting. I should have not used that stubshaft last time i had it apart. i have two spares so i think i am gonna put one of them in and keep this one for spare. Then i took off the front driveshaft and pulled the np205. I should have all my goodies for the doubler in a little over a week so that is my reason for that. oh and when pulling the 205 i think i broke my finger. all in all pretty productive couple of hours. oh and the first pic is of the spark plug wires on from yesterday... i still need to add the little clippy things to keep them organized

Damn it looks like you broke it right on the last joint...Ouch! You sure have been spending some dough on your rig. I bet the 203 and disks cost a pretty penny. Like I said before if you need any help next week sometime I'll be in town once I get my truck back. :gigem:

Shaggy

If you can find a detroit for $465, jump on it like a cheap hooker. I searched my ass off when buying the one for my 60, and the best deal I found was $500. If you can wait till I get back to CS, I can look through my receipts and tell you where I got it from. I'm liking what I'm seeing progress wise. Are you going to be able to re-use the t-case crossmember you made with the doubler? When you gonna fire that sum***** up?

Shaggy
01-07-2006, 09:28 PM
i wont know for sure until the 203 and doubler get here and i have it to moch up... but i think it will work since the 205 is gonna be clocked and if it doesnt the stock one might. if neither work i can modify or build a new one. i want to start it as soon as i can. hopefully this month.

Shaggy
01-08-2006, 07:26 PM
well today wasnt much progress made. i pulled the diff-cover off and started to pull the 60 apart to put in my not even ordered yet detroit... well i cant get the sum***** out... two prybars and little tate are not enough... maby need someone bigger than me to help me get it out. so after loosing that battle i moved on to removing the powersteering pump. it came off fine but to remove the bracket that i need for the new one i have to get the pully off.. i stripped out two allen wrenches trying to break it loose but lost that battle too. so after loosing twice in one day to the broncos power to not get rid of parts on itsself i decided to go to wallyworld... i needed some oil for the f150 and such. while there i picked up fluids for the bronco as well and some pretty sweet and cheap rock lights. Also picked up two marine battery boxes. i figured for 6.50$ each i could sure save a lot of space in my tool box. so now they will be mounted kinda beside the fuel tank maby not sure exactly where but the optima fits in them damn good and i really need the toolbox space for other stuff.

oh and what is it that you use to make old gas better?... octane booster or gas treatment

Sharpe

Shaggy

I just ordered all the parts i need to make my dana 60 Superior to yours :)

BMFScout

I would drain it into a container, dump it on the truck, then light a match. That, or just put it in the F-150 and burn it in that since it likely won't give a **** how old the gas is.

Shaggy
01-09-2006, 08:22 PM
Broke a craftsman laser etched half inch drive 7/8 socket today... took it up to sears to replace it and they dont keep the laser etched ones but in sets and when calling warrenty they said there was a month long back order on that specific one... i didnt have much on it so maby they made a bad batch or something... so instead of waiting a month i took the regular one... so now my baddood set has a nonbaddood in it :(

Its only cool when you give your self a black eye cause the wrench slips off. :)

Breaking a 1/2 drive takes some work I will give you that.

Yah no crap thats impressive, especially for a Tate sized person, no matter how big a cheater bar was used. I've broken 3 15mm 3/8 drive craftsman sockets and a few other sizes, but no 1/2 drive ones. What exactly will make your 60 superior to mine?

Reckless

try breakin a 3/4 drive. It breaks fingers when it lets go especially on dozier drive flanges!
