I think Blake and possibly Paul and I will be heading up to the Den on sunday... May be an alternative plan, or something different after you wheel Cibolo on saturday.

I was planning on going and could make it if ya'll made it a Sunday day trip - but my saturday is booked with a flight that gets in to IAH at 2:05, a family reunion, and then dinner with the Higgs...

Its usually about a 3 hour drive

texasxj
10-11-2004, 02:07 PM
im from SA and do alot of wheeling around there but i dont know if this is really true but the cops supposedly have been watching cibolo pretty closely-because of the new law where vehicles cant be in rivers or riverbeds and cibolo is still considered a riverbed.

if someone needs a tow down there i may be going home that weekend-let me know

TRDyota

I am going on this one. I'll be driving in to New Braunfels Friday night, so I will have to meet up with everyone else Saturday morning. Where is Cibalo Creek at? Is there a nearby address that I can punch in to map quest?

If for some reason Nick gets a negative from the local authorities, then is anyone going to go to the Den?

I am desperate for some wheelin...

texasxj
10-11-2004, 03:39 PM
if anyone wants to go to the den during the 23-24 oct shout back.-i think its that weekend maybe next weekend-will get ahold of someone to get dates straight i will be around there with a bunch of local yocals from SA.

Violentv8toy
10-11-2004, 04:11 PM
personally, i'd rather go to the den.

I dunno if i'm gonna go though....diesel is 2.00/gal

If anyone needs a seat and would like to pitch in 15 bux let me know....

stinger7401
10-11-2004, 10:37 PM
the den??? please.....

anyways, i talked to that friend of mine that is a Cibalo cop and he once again said that as long as we weren't shooting any guns or lighting any fires we shouldn't have a problem being down there. I have his name and cell and if we have any problems he told us to give him a call, not to mention his dad used to be the captain of the cibalo police so i know he has some pull there.

J Cooper
10-12-2004, 12:50 AM
like nick said this thread is for the Cibalo Creek trip, this weekend, and it has been cleared by the patroling officer

lets see what time people want to leave and where people want to stay
it will probably be mostly a leave friday and stay the night or leave early sat. and wheel early sat all day, maybe stay again and leave sunday about noon. lets see if there is a local camp site anywhere in the area that can accomodate the group.

if there is no interest in going on this trip then so be it... if you would rather go the the Gilmer clean up or the den this weekend start a separate thread and get a group together.... as of right now we want this to be a fairly large trip for what it is, close enough for new people to get out there even if they do not have a vehicle.

or if there is interest in a future Den trip, speak up and will can see if there is enough interest to work it into our calander.

Sorry Mario, but I am going to Houston Sunday morning or Saturday night. My dad got club level seats to game 4 of the National League Championship. In case your wondering, game 4 is when the Astros finish their sweep against St. Louis. But anyways, I WILL be on this trip. Where is Cibolo Creek? What is it near?

Violentv8toy

Directions: Take HWY 21 west and go ~115 miles on it while not getting lost in Bastrop. You will find yourself in the map dot that is San Marcos. See that big Interstate? Get on Southbound I-35 towards San Antone. Drive about another 35 miles and you'll see a exit that says some county road but its Schertz. (someone oughta remember the exit, i believe its like #176) Theres a big Honda dealership right there you can't miss it. There is a parking lot under the Interstate...i suppose we're gathering there.

To get back to Houston, take 35 into SA and get on I-10.

Really? I-10 goes from Houston to San Antonio? You have got to be kidding...

Sorry, I just needed to know how to get to Cibolo, didn't expect someone to hold my hand and navigate my entire journey for me. :D

See you in Cibolo. Don't chicken out again. J/K.

Alright, well I think I'm gonna stay here this weekend so it looks like I'm going.

Here's what I will offer to any of yall. A FREE TOW + maybe a little for gas or something. If, you can find someone with a gooseneck we can use. I want to bring my blazer but I don't want to rent a trailer again. So if you know someone with a goosneck and have a couple bucks for gas I've got 4 extra seats to fill and the possibility of towing 3 rigs.

TRDyota
10-12-2004, 06:42 PM
Just uglyfab a tow bar like Mario and Eric each have so you can pull it out there without a trailer. You can get it done (with the help of someone with a welder) by Friday night, and still have time to go out afterwards.

So are we gonna meet somewhere near the Schertz exit off of 35? 10:00? I'll be driving in by myself, so Nick, I'll just call whenever I am getting close to S.A. I'll be coming in from Shiner.

Is that time and exit where everyone else is going to meet? Or is everyone driving strait to the Creek? I guess what I am getting at is that I don't know where the creek is once I get to S.A.

Well, we went, wheeled, drank, and came back.

The water was kinda high, but not high enough to cause a problem. It was the shortest trip ever, only traveled .3 miles up.

Nick broke some stupid little clutch rod or somethin. Cooper broke a front axle joint. Mario broke a ujoint, twice, in 100'. Busa pinched a brake line, and broke a headlight. Cody would have broke something, but didn't try hard enough.

So we called it a day and headed to some biker bar, where we drank. Then went to Nick's house, then to Floore Country store. It was $10 cover and $3 long necks, but the band was good and the beer was cold, and I left with 20 cents. Good we had the Freshman for a DD.

Nick's mom, sister, and Busa made us a 5 course breakfast this morning, and it was good.

While, not really a great wheelin trip, it was the best drinkin trip I've been on.

yes it did drive straight at 65 with no hands and coop was like a damn 5 year old that learned a new way to burp the alphabet cause he had to show me many times throughout the 4 hour drive on the way there. hell we would be going down the and i would look over and he didnt have his hands on the wheel, but he has this **** eating little smirk of pleasure on his face it was quite humerous.

ill get what pics i got left that didnt get deleted cause i am a tool up tomorrow or so when i figure out how to do it.
