So I was actually up before noon today, decided to go to my buddies house and pick up my seats that i bought off the boards. (great buy, btw...they look great!)
So I was driving home on 2818 and saw a ford f250 broke down with his buddy in a nissan towing a trailer...upon closer inspection, the trailer was loaded with axles. I took a peek passing by and saw a d44. Since i have a 'thing' for d44, i busted a Uie and pulled over and started talking to the dood. I asked him if the axles were for sale and he got happy and said yes because he was taking them to the torcher. I started off looking at the d44. It was complete...flat top knuckles...dry center, but nothing a little lube wouldn't fix. 4.10s i believe locking hubs...good overall condition...been on a rack. Took a peek at the other axles...good condition...i got his number and said i'd call him if i found any buyers. He started off at 50 bux for the d44....so using my elite book selling skills, i got him to offer it to me for 25 bux. Told him i'd think about it.
So -
1 - 9" ford w/ disc brakes ratio unknown (from a car)
1 - 9" ford w/drums ratio unknown
1 - 9" ford w/ drums 3.50s
1 - d44 flat tops 4.10s locking hubs
these are gonna be really cheap (no more than 50 apiece)...so if anyone wants to score an axle or 2, these are as good as any. They'll need simple stuff like pads and shoes and brake cyls...but otherwise seem to be in good junkyard condition....anyone want an axle?
if you want the d44, you may have to live without some internals because i want them. Better yet, we can split the cost. I'm not entirely sure what is wrong with my d44 front, but i was thinking about it, and I'm thinking that its the spider gears....so i just might be taking the carrier....great for someone who wants a fullsize front end.
Either that....or does anyone want my welded toyota 8" rear in a trade for a 14b with 4.10s? i'll go fullwidth baby.
EDIT: I'd like a 5 dollar finders fee....but if u think thats too much...n/m :flipoff2:
EDIT2: stroke of obvious - if u bought the disc brake axle and the one with 3.50 3rd, you could have a 3.50 axle with discs...damn im smart.
