I think It is Cody's YJ that it looks like the Rocker Skids are made out of angle Iron. I was just wondering If he made those or not? If he did I am interested in Making as set for my Jeep and selling my nerf bars that suck on the side

I also have some of angle iron, and if nick had some 2 years ago his jeep would still look half decent.

I used 3x5x3/16. A little smaller would be fine, but for other reasons I had to have a 5". Don't use less than 3/16".

they are cheap... you are gonna spend more on hardware than on the angle iron

They make it easy to trash the rest of the body :gigem:
3x3 1/4inch angle....drill a few holes and bolt it up.

here's my TJ...4x4x1/4
Be really careful about where you put your bolts...there aren't a whole lot of perfect places to bolt into a TJ tub so measure twice :D

closer pic - I used a grinder to form the edges at the fenders so I wouldn't catch a tire on a corner

heres what i got... also very cheap to make, except these dont touch your body and can also function as a step, i already had some little body guards so i went with these...
both are cheap and work great.

Lynda's got angle too. Be sure not to skimp on the bolts - either use some SS button head allens or go countersunk. The bolts make a huge difference in the way it looks. Also, be sure to put a backing plate on the inside.
Oh - Troy and Bobby Hickson have the too...

I was also think of making some spacers so that the angle Iron would bolt through the floor of the jeep to keep from bending on itself, it it is possible

Make sure you do this. I have the backing plate on mine and after a few good wacks it even bent in some right above the rocker. Luckily the factory step brackets are right behind there so it won't bend in much more if any.
If you can, find a way to tie a few spots into the frame if you plan on bashing them.

I think the rear ones are over at Paul's house... I've been too lazy to pull the fronts off.

Coop, If I wanted a step, I could just weld on some squared tubing, and use some other square tubing as a spacer and make it like the Yaffy bars that somebody sells, can't rember whon
