wow that Jeff Clark must be a smart guy to think of using an ammo box as a center console...I would never have thought of that! ;)

the army surplus at walton and TX has a lot of them, as does the place in the mall. Or you can buy them buy the pallet at auction this week!

buy a small brake and make it out of brushed stainless...it'll pay for itself!

They also sell them at gun shows, thats where I got the ones I keep all my junk in in my suburban. I built a center console out of 10 gauge steel. Its a royal piece of crap, ****in thing weighs about 100 pounds. But, it locks and I made it so its going in as soon as I get my CB and switch panel installed. I'll post pics when I get my computer back.

Krebs made a pretty nice one for his Blazer a while back. He might have some pics to post if he reads this...

are they big ones, like the ones in olivers burban.... I have found many, and I have been to some of the surplus stores... I have seen none like his.... I have seen some smaller, and they wanted like $50-70..... I have many of the small ones, 200-500round ones... but I want a lage one.

If they want that much tell them to go f' themselves. No ammo can is worth that unless its filled with cash. Mine are about the same size as Oliver's, just wider and flatter. I got them for $15 each at a gun show. I think they were rocket propelled grenade cases or something kewl like that.

Don't have my catalog with me, and I can't find em on the site, but they had a variety of sizes. www.northerntool.com is the site..

I think I have the same kind as you, 40mm mortar ammo case, long flat and rectangular. Mine came with the actual cases for the ammo, watertight cylinders with HE markings all over em. My LAW rocket fits in 'em pretty good, but I need to find something on the Jeep to use all this stuff for.(except the rocket, of course), so its not just sitting in my closet. :gigem:
