Got my new powermaster 140 amp alternator installed today. This ***** is blingin! It puts out more power at idle than the old one did at full throtle, plus it looks pimp. First is the old ugliness, second is the new bling, third is the guage as it reads now at idle (before it was always just under 13 at highway speeds), and fourth is how you confortably work on the engine of a 7 foot tall suburban with no appreciable front bumper.

you're halfway to a good charging system. now all you need is dual batteries and an isolator. nothin' like bein' able to jump start yourself. :D

325 amps of charging power...and the mfg recommends running in conjunction with the stock alt too.

I saw those too, 325 amps holy hell... I was more impressed with the PTO driven generator they had in the same issue on the same page infact.

The stinger alts. are more likey made for hardcore street trucks with 20 KCs and the lowriders with 10 amps stack on each other. By keeping your stock alt. and charging system you don't have to worry about your bling bling pulling to much power and killing your electrical system and leaving you stranded at the mall.

Yeah, that PTO Generator was sweet! 12,000 watts of continuous AC power. :gigem:

do you have a link to the isolator you got? you did get one able to handle at least 140amps right? cuz otherwise you'll melt it. i looked at hellroaring stuff and they have nice kits already put together for wiring, but they were way to expensive. isolators are cheaper at an RV dealership. lemme know if you need a wiring diagram on how to set it up so you can jump start yourself.

I dont remember exactly which version I got but I called them and talked to a rep who told me what I needed. I'm prety sure it was the offroad version though. I wasnt worried about the cost because I got it as part of my graduation present. It came with a prety damn good diagram but if I need help, I'll let you know. Thx
