looking for a small cheap reliable outboard motor to put on back of a free jon boat I know of.

look on ebay under antique motors. you can get an old 5hp seahorse fo $100-$200 depending on condition.

and then it can sit in my living room while I wonder where to find those obscure parts you could never find for yours?
I would like to get an old one though, it would look cool. I do want reliable however, I just want to fish, not **** around with a motor

my dad bought a running one. Mine was free from a neighbor. It just needs a coil to work...I don't want to spend the cash. the cool thing about the seahorses are the gas tanks are built in. a lot of the 5 and 10 hps' are underated as well so they could be used on small lakes back in the day that had hp limits.
