Since nutz started a thread for a trip to cruces, and the vote was kinda split between cruces and clayton, I figured i would start a thread for people who would like to go to clayton. I'm thinking a short trip, for the ones of us who are broke or have to work. Personally I'm thinking a long weekend (3-4 days total including the drive) would suffice, preferably the first weekend of spring break for me. Any one else?

Would anyone want to tow my buggy to clayton? I can get a trailer if needed, or if someone has an open spot on a trailer. Of course I would help with gas costs

Well, it doesn't look like we're going to have a big trip, so I guess I'm down for going to Clayton if enough people go.

Who else is still in?

I'm going somewhere one way or the other. The longer the trip the better.

I want to go, but may not be able to if my manager decides to manipulate my days off again. Then again, hopefully I should have a new job by then. Also, I don't really want to try that pull in my old chevy, so I would need to find a tow rig.

Here is a question. Would anyone be interested in perhaps a weekend trip to gilmer or down to san antonio (cibilo/the den)? Basically it would be for the people who are really poor, or have screwy work schedules. Just an idea. I really want to go somewhere, but clayton is getting more out of my reach

I will definitely go to San Antonio because that's where I'll end up during SB anyway. Let me know.

Well lets see, who's in for clayton.
I don't mind small groups, actually prefer them, get more wheeling done that way.

Who else going for sure?

San antonio seems better for a day trip, while gilmer would be fun for the weekend. So I say we go to gilmer the first weekend of spring break. That way the people who would be interested in both trips can go to gilmer the first weekend and then still be able to go to clayton later in the week.

I like the way that sounds, everyone go to Gilmer the first weekend, then the people that want to go on to Clayton for however long they want to spend there. Would cut the driving down into more manageable chunks.

yeah, and it would give both the people who want to wheel most of the break and the people who can only do a weekend what they want.

If anybody want to go during the week I would be up for that. Maybe a Mon-Wed or a Wed-Fri ? I have other plans the first weekend. But I will be in Oklahoma.

Hey I would be down for going durring the week, that way I can work on my jeep before I go to clayton and then work on it again when I get back

wheeling gilmer and clayton might be pushing my budget a bit, but i'm definatly wanting to go to clayton again, this time with a trailer

I would like to go to Clayton on the first weekend (11, 12, 13)ish.

eight, you can add me to a strong maybe list. It all boils down to how much gas is in my tank the day before, and how much I spend at Northgate!

My buddy with the CJ I am climbing on in my pictures would like to go too (with CJ). I think that Clayton is open to the public, but what are the TAMOR rules about guests?

I will come up to clayton and stay one night, That give me time to work on my Jeep before I take it to clayton

Ben97XJ

That sounds good. Just need to find someone who knows Clayton better than me. Also do we need to make any arrangements with anybody to go up there or is it public land?

So is Clayton for sure happening on Mon. thru Wed. now? If so, I have to work all week, so I would be out.
