Well here it is. We finally got the chassis at the first comp. I have the motor in and just need to make the tranny mount. Scott should have some pics of the bare chassis.

Today was a good day. I finished the tranny mount and installed the atlas. I had bought a tranny scatter shield so I would not have to build a floor over the tranny. The scatter shield did not fit. Call the company and talked to the guy who made it. He made it off of a 4l60 not the 4l60e with a removeable bellhousing so now we have to make a floor to cover tranny. Also had to do some adjusting of the shifter because it hit the atlas cable shifters. I also had to cut a bar out of the new seat so I can sit lower because of the t-case. Scott will be here tonight and we will be working on it until Tuesday so we can get a lot done. We will update this again tomorrow.

is the small trailer built specifically for the buggy? It's sweet!
oh yeah the buggy's cool too. I like long-radius bends (deja vu?)

It is a 12ft trailer that Twisted customs has for pulling a buggy. They say you can go 100mph and never know it is there.

Well today was a slow day. It took a lot of time to mount the seat as low as possible. I literaly sit on the atlas t-case. After all the time we spent on the seats we were only able to get part of the floor made and mounted. Hopfully tomorrow will be a better day with less problems.

Sunday was a good day. We got all the dash and firewall bars in and were able to get 2 of the 3 fire wall pieces cut out. Today we took the chassis out to Sunray so they can start on it first chance they get. It was also nice to work on the chassis with all the right tools. We were able to get the firewall and dash pieces done and mounted. I really like working with aluminum when I have a real break to bend it with. Tomorrow we plan on mounting the brake pedal setup, steering wheel and orbital valve, and all the gauges in the dash. here are the picks we have.

NO.

I guess it might be possible, but it was the first time out in the buggy and we didn't want to trash it too bad...

how much clearance is there between the u-joints and the inner "C". All of the spindles and "C" are custom as well, right? Looks like you may fit a business card in between the joint and the "c". are the caps rivited or something. pretty cool looking.

those joints are HUGE! Do you have a comparison shot w/ another joint by chance?

AgDieseler

It's something like a 1660 series joint. I've seen them on 2.5+ ton drivelines. For comparison, a D60 uses 1480s.

front winch is a Warn 9000# that is only availiable for comp rigs. It uses the same spool as the 6000# ones.

there is little to no clearence between the yokes and the "C". Most of them rub some. The caps are bolted in. I don't think I have a comparison shot but I'll check later.

Is that the same axle that Sunray has under the cruiser buggy they just built not to long ago? That thing has a sick turning radius
