Now we're in trouble!
As is your front axle
you shouldn't have a problem ebaying that aussie when the axle explodes, though, no shortage of turd polishers in the jeep world :flipoff2:

locker means that I am going to CRAWL more, less throttle. Anyways, for $200, i don't consider it a polished turd. Anyways, I am going to install it over the break in Dallas

Are you still going to Gilmer the first weekend at least?

I don't know why everyone is soo afraid of lockers, I have wheeled with them in both axles for years and my front is a lunchbox that used to be in my rear and look at Conlee, locked up both ends with a 30 in the front and 35" tires and I think the only casualty was 1 front u-joint that again he blew where we knew we shouldnt have been.....lock it up and run circles around everyone..

Because once your locked front and rear you no longer have an excuse to not try some insane line...except for ball size :flipoff2:

...I'm gonna catch **** for this one :D

Yea here's the guy with the mighty 8" toy axle and a guy that tries to think he wheels a suburban talkin **** about a good jeep axle. The TJ axle has solid shafts and 297 u-joints. That's stronger than a toyoty axle and probably stronger per weight than 30 spline stubs in an 8000lb thing. Just look at how hard people in this club wheel them, with very little breaking.

Just lock up that d44 and you'll be able to put that jeep in places you shouldn't.

I haven't had any real problems with my D30 and a Lock-Right other than breaking a u-joint turning too sharp into the driveway with only the front driveshaft installed. It's worked flawlessly off-road and helped a lot in Katemcy. Keep a set of spare shafts in the back just in case, but that's something everybody should do anyway. For $200, it wasn't a waste of money or an expensive bottle of polish in any way at all.

In case their instructions aren't too clear, here's the write-up I did when I installed mine.

you were just itching to use that polished turd pic. The corn is a nice touch. I just don't see the difference in a giant douche or a turd sandwich...

Doesn't conlee have the super burly mucho $$$ 30 setup?

kind of, i think when he blew out the u-joint he replaced that one side with warn shafts, but up untill that point he all stock equipment, which was 3 years or so with a locked up 30......just run it!

Well i got it installed today, Intallation was a breeze, It took 4 hrs, from tires on to tires back on, but could have been quicker if I did not have to run to the store to get a tool. works great, at least in 2wd, and is quiet. I can barely hear it with the doors off

Thats great to hear...now try putting it in 4wd and putting power to it.

Well, I was out at Gilmer Saturday and it worked great. Climbed ledges, and everything else the front wheels could touch. Only problem now is I need better powersteering, cause its hard as **** to turn the tires now

I didnt realize I was talked about so much in this thread. I think 30s work good but after experiencing ball joint failure after breaking a shaft a couple years ago and witnessing the same thing happen to everyone else that wheels a TJ 30 I knew it was time for something a little more beefy and more common. There are ways to wheel a 30 without much damage, try to avoid turning while climbing and choose good lines, it never hurts to back up and try again than just hammering on it. Its all about keeping that momentum going.

yeah I got lucky and the ball joints didn't break on me when the shaft failed.
