Sway Bar Links

I need to extend my sway bar links since they are a bit too short after 5" of lift. They are made of what looks like 1/4" bar. I was thinking about cutting them and extending them with some reasonably thick tube. Just stick each end in the piece of tube and weld up. Bad idea? And no I won't buy new ones right now. I'm a cheap bastard. Anybody seen some suitable tube laying around somewhere. Bryan Iron and Metal?

yeah the cut and tube meathod works well, I would definetly suggest running sway bars w/ your lift

The rear is still connected. I wonder if it's actually doing its job. Probably not.
