My tire got hung up on my slider and pop goes the Profield. I'll be shortening up the sliders before the truck goes out again...

I boogered up some rims, tacoed and drag link and connecting sleeve, and somehow pushed my tranny up, causing the driveshaft to hit the bottom of the body.

Had a great time though

Hub. Front drive shaft. Rear drive shaft joint and maybe pinion yoke. Got a scratch too. Lost another few pounds of rubber. And a 30 pack.

Saw another guy break a profield today. But at least his was impressive. Was taking a shot at the crack.

Yeah, Ronny was really floggin it on the crack when his profield let go. Somehow I tore up my winch cable pretty bad trying to pull him out of the crack, and my winch was smoking pretty good as well.

oh yeah, his profield shattered the star just like yours, but it also continued to shave all the splines off the inner shaft as well

sheered 3 bolts on my steering box on the waterfall trail on the waterfall itself (yes Nick, the bolts were tight, when we started the trail atleast :flipoff2: ) but was able to limp it back to camp. Got the broken bolts out of the box that night and was running the next day

How'd the Trail Klogger do?

How'd the Trail Klogger do?

It lived up to its name alright. Karl and Mike found out it was 2wd after getting to Katemy thanks to a snapped stubshaft and a freeze plug in the spindle covering the damage. Then with the 2wd action the rear pinion sheared off. Jimmy will have to tell about his attempt at a trail fix using a crescent wrench.

Well for the first time in many years, 8runner actually drove itself off a trailer back in CS. Not that I didn't have my issues, but they were relatively minor. I actually spent more on gas going back and forth to 2 different na[a's a dozen or so times than I did on the parts I bought. Friday I dropped into a hole and landed on a spring shackle. No direct damage, but my motor slid forward on the mounts and did damage to the power steering pulley. After some amazing work by Kopecki and his big tool, an assload of belts, and a few washers from Kruse's shop to replace my motor mount bushing, I had a succesfult afternoon on saturday and morning on Sunday. I think this is more wheeling than my truck has seen on the last 3 trips (Katemcy, CO, and Clayton)! Can you tell I am proud that my crap finally works!

i also destroyed a rear u-joint as I found today when I was crawling underneath the Jeep trying to figure out why it was shaking so bad when I accelerated. I checked the front alignament again today and it was close enough for government work, and replaced the u-joint so know I am good to go

I don't think firestone changed the tape measure job we did on mine much, if any. :gigem:

Looks like ya'll had a good time. I wish I could have brought the piece out there.

My rear bumpstops are pissed, and my clutch has 10,000 miles less on it.
The trail Klogger snapped the rear pinion shaft while trying to get through a hole so he could jump this little burm to get some sweet pics of air. I had the bright idea of putting a wrench in the left axle so that it would not turn and the right one would. One wheel drive, well this was almost a good idea. It snapped a 3/8 extension like a twig, so we put a 3/4" or so shackle pin in there via hammer. This would have worked, but we didn't think about turning so it didn't work. We did try a crescent wrench as well before conceding. We got towed back by "Baby Huey" under the conditions laid down by the wife that if we hit the custom painted tailgate she would "kill us." (I don't think it was a joke) The custom conversion wheels worked like a champ, it was the greatest idea ever...

I doubt she was, she does all the body work on that rig. He was telling us how she just got done reglassing the hood. Shes a trooper

Thanks for the spare pipe. Sleeved right over it and had the Kruse shop weld it up for me.

I think I was the last one out of camp on Sunday, but finally got home.

you should thank Kopeki for the pipe, I stole it out of the back of his truck and was contemplating using it to fix my steering. you didn't leave that late, you passed me on the way home.

Had a great time at TCC - I wanted to add my opinion that John and his Bronc did awesome - I was totally shocked! He did some pretty hardcore stuff for those who didn't get to see him wheel. I vote for him for rig of the month, not that my vote counts, haha - but John, it was nice to see a full-size get the job done - keep it up! : )

I don't think the death wobble came from the wheel being loose. It's been doing it a little for the past month. And if that was the cause, it should have gotten worse as I drove home, but it wasn't there at all after adjusting the toe.
