Here's a pic of us using the patented BMF Skyhook o' Death getting ready to put the engine and trans in. The other one was the stopping point for the night. Other than waiting on some parts to come in, things seem to be going relatively smooth. Still lots to do after it's running like the interior and the stereo.

I don't know. Looks like they might just be ****ty resized and cropped pics that he took. Seems like an decent deal but I don't know. Jimmy is the one pricing the tower, not me. I did however get some work done after coming home from ADC. Brett came over and helped and we've got everything hooked up except for the exhaust, the return fuel line, gas tank, I have to replace a breaker that is bad, fill the transmission, and hook up the battery and it should be ready for a test fire. Hopefully that happens tomorrow night. Oh, and before anyone says anything, yes, one of the plug wires is blue. There was a damaged one and Jimmy didn't want to buy an entire set, so we just took one out of the miscellaneous auto parts box we have and put it on. Oh, and Brett slapped the engine cover on to take a pic. I guess he wanted to see how it looked.

It's a $119 pump on marine sites. Skidim.com has one in their clearance section that they had on a motor for a couple hours that they are selling for $80 that still is under warranty. By the way, what the hell are you doing up still? Isn't it 2am where you're at?

Figured it out. The high side pump flows 55gph at approximately 45psi, and the low pressure supply pump is approximately 5psi and 72gph. Turns out it's a universal marine Carter pump p/n P4070 avaliable at the Napa less than a block from the office for $90. Picked one up at lunch. Thanks for the help guys!

Put a pair of 1500 gph bilges in it just in case you manage to rip it off. Some malibus have sunk because their little bilge couldn't keep up.

Not sure about the seal, doesn't leak that bad and I have a bilge pump. I'll get to it eventually.

Not worried about the ballast, just feels like you are close to the water when you're in it. Not a very good rough water boat.

The spaciousness of a 19' boat goes away real quick when you put a bigass motor and transmission right in the middle of it. It's going to be a pain in the ass to take more than 4 out, but I knew that. I'd still rather have this than an inboard/outboard in the same price range. Inboards are way cooler.

It'll be a lot more fun to try a WOT launch with an engine cover and seats.

Another advantage of the wedge vs. ballast. Doesn't weigh the boat down.

I know the malibu has a slight prop shaft leak. I think the tige had one too.

The closed bow will make the boat safer than it seems in rough water. You foam fill much?

You only want three people anyway. One driver, one observer and someone at the business end of the rope. Even with a tower, you really don't want people in the back blocking the view of the observer.

To solve the people carrying capacity, get an old pontoon boat and convert it into a party barge. Even a little 20hp motor would be good enough to put put out to the ski area with the entire Swedish Bikini team. Use the ski boat for boarding and beer runs.

That's awesome Jimmy, I'm liking the boat. If you ever bring it down to CS or Conroe I'll have to come out and ride behind it.

Looks like it would throw a pretty good wake without ballast since it sits lower in the water plus the weight of the engine. The A&M Wakeboard Team/Club boat is an 81 Ski Nautique with a 351w and a few hundred pounds of ballast. It's a small boat but once you put a bunch of people in it you really don't need ballast or else the wake is ridiculously huge.

(It's hella sick though) We whipped up an interior tonight so we have something to wakeboard behind and it is choice. house carpet, half of the old interior, etc. The pinnacle is going to be the engine cover covered in tarp material. Oh well, thanks to Grayson and then Flem the pylon extension made it in from Ft. Worth. I'll post pics later mostly of the work St. John did on the seat, it's badass. Click here and then download the word file that says "pumpless ballast sys"

there is discussion by pothead wakeboarders on it here:

I think this will work tip top, and plan on trying it on my rear tank, and if that works adding a tank in the nose. St.John isn't so sure about it. Discuss.

i would put a NACA duct on the bottom of the boat

It seems like it should work, their server must be slow the file is taking a while to download.

It's always gonna fill some when you're driving because the air will compress.

You can't just hook yourself up with some sample/obsolete solenoid valves from work? I'm thinking a Butech K108 with electric actuator would do the job. One per tank and just put it in the line from the scoop to each tank. It would work better this way.

Isn't that what the ball valve is for?

no, thats just for a leak. kopecki is talking about controlling the system with something similar. although i dont think your going to see much fluctuation in the system from dynamic pressure alone.

seems like it would be hard to get the tank in the nose to fill well

if it fluctuates no biggie, If I'm not wakeboarding I'll close the valve underneath. No reason to bring electricity into it if I don't have to. KISS

forgot to brag that I stuck a toeside 360 sat night behind st.john's boat. never done one with a handle pass before, not that anyone really cares, but I was stoked.

So you really are decent at this thing. If you can do that, you're better than 80% of the kids with $60K boats. We need to get you and brother runt together. If you're getting decent at some things he can help you out with others. You got a cable lake around?

BMFScout

that would be badass. I need someone that knows what the hell they are doing to give me some pointers. that and to lose about 20 lbs so that I can go longer, and for my left knee to hold together.

The boat bumps like a hikeschool hatchback in the back of the parking lot. You know the one, your mom doesn't want you to hang out with the guy that drives it. Sublime sounded pretty good. Working on getting all the stuff for the ballast system together and for the interior guys to finish up. I bought a 16 gallon tank to stick in the nose, hopefully ~150 lbs. will help bring the nose down a little at wakeboard speed, wasn't room for much more. So that, plus the rear tank under the backseat makes ~ 450lbs of extra weight. E-searching says that isn't that much for those boats, but I'll start with that. It's getting close, maybe by the time summer is over! :)

Priorities. Guess which one I'm still making payments on. If you guessed the foreign one, you'd be right. The interior panels are finally finished and it's time for Ry to get to work on covering the rest. I'm betting he's super stoked since he's been getting so much done on Cheeromanche!

Ryan put carpet in the hooker this weekend. I can start installing some things permanently like the driver's seat, stereo, ballast tanks, etc. Althought the side panels and a few interior panels aren't done because I need to buy some more material, it'll pretty much be ready to wakeboard behind. Fred's got pics, post them up sucker!

I'm a little slow at getting these loaded up.

Here's the pictures of the carpet:

So after that, we got the boat back to Murphy and started the permanent install of the ballast system, stereo, driver's seat, etc. and decided to repaint the rubrail since the paint was flaking off of it. Makes the outside look much better.

Here's a shot of the engine cover bolted in for good, and the driver's seat. Also, the twin batteries and switch, sub box, and you can see the back of the front ballast tank as well in one of the shots.

and finally, a shot when we got off the lake tonight. Apparently everyone else called it a weekend and went home. We had great water and only one other wakeboarding boat anywhere near us. It was nice.

Hopes and dreams? wtf are you talking about rowdy?

looks good guys, glad to see it out on the water. Even matches the hoe!

How'd it come out good deal wise after it was all said and done?

The 1100 sticker makes me chuckle.

Also, what is the red switch for? Batteries?

I wouldn't say at this point it is a "good deal" by any means, and it still needs some interior work. I would say it would be difficult to find a comp boat like this that is fuel injected, new interior, etc. for what I have in it. I mostly like the fact that everything is a "known" in the boat now, and it's been paid for since day one. I don't finance toys.
