Anyone ever try this?

Ever locked the keys in the car?

If you lock your keys in the car and the spare keys
are home just call someone on your cell phone who
has another set.

Hold your cell phone about a foot from your car door
and have the other person at your home or wherever
press the unlock button, holding it near the phone
on their end.

Your car will unlock. Saves someone from having to
drive your keys to you.

Distance is no object. You could be hundreds of
miles away and if you can reach someone who has the
other "remote" for your car you can unlock the doors
(or the trunk!).

Editor's Note: It works fine! We tried and it
unlocked our car over a cell phone! Neat tip

I sincerely doubt that it works....the secretary at work sent this email out in like Feb.

Could the mike on the cell phone really produce the frequency necessary to do that? I doubt it.

so does flem.

the bandwidth/wavelength width on voice calls is so narrow that even if car unlocker deals worked by soundwaves it wouldn't be carried. If it was rebroadcasting a different frequency over RF signals (Robert Fleming signals) it would be a repeater and the FCC might have something to say aboot that.
