We just got back yesterday, the trip was great!

We ran Upper Helldorado and Hells Revenge in Moab.

From Ouray CO, we ran Engineer Pass to Lake city, then Cinnimon Pass to Animas Forks, then California Gulch/pass to Poughskeepie Gulch and back to Ouray

FJ80 longfield? D'oh!
Longfield good, inner shaft bad...

my new full hydro steering sucked and put me in a bad spot which caused me to break the shaft. Full throttle at full lock in reverse with the tire binding on the frame didn't help either...

fun train ride, eh?
stock inners?
was this a "shakedown" for the full hydro? :haha:
I had no business going on that trip. Glad yall had fun though!

yep, stock inners - the first one that I've broken...

first time in 4wd with the full hydro - it just plain sucked. Works ok on the road (a little too fast turning left) but it sucked while on the trail. Something is wrong with it - I have to make a few phone calls...

Who's rig is that on the trailer with the twisted driveshafts and the dick cepecks?

redcagepatrol
08-08-2005, 02:33 PM
my Patrol,
Lynda's YJ
Scooters Toy,
Cody's YJ,
Rose's Rubicon for the passes,
Greg's comp buggy for Moab and Avalanche
Jeremy's TJ
Greg's old Toyota has one dick Cepek on it - I drove it at Avalanche ranch because my steering sucks - but wasn't driving it when we bent the driveshaft...

those are great pics!

redcagepatrol

yep, it's the start of the Hell's Revenge trail. It's right next to Lions back.

:confused2
I thought I remembered baby lion's back being just a little side obstacle near the front of the park, and Hell's Revenge started farther back in the park. Lions back is outside the park. Or maybe I've been away too long...
did you guys ride bikes?

redcagepatrol
08-08-2005, 04:18 PM
it's "A" baby lion's back that is near the real lion's back park, It's a few hundred yards up the hill from the real Lions back

Looks like fun. Did Lynda flop?

I am a few weeks behind you guys. I am going to get RJ and Ash out of the house/shop and maybe do some light wheeling. I've got an H3 reserved with Avis. Were going to "explore" its capabilities.

PS Scott, you need new skins for the Patrol. Its looking a bit ghetto...

Lynda

still true. not my choice - all the trails there are still easy; that is, all the trails in the slickrock area in Moab. I ran ALL of the Hells Revenge trail in 2wd

Area BFE where the comps are at and where upper Helldorado is has good trails. there is actually a chance to put a dent in your rig out there AND you have to use 4wd and be locked up.

An H3? That's not very Halliburton of you. I thought being caught in a vehicle that gets over 10 mpg was grounds for termination. :flipoff2:

It gets the worst mileage of anything Avis has. To keep mama Halliburton happy, I'd probably need to start another war. I tried in Mauritania, but all I got was a bloodless coup.

sure did - he's a bad doggy...

08-29-2005, 11:34 AM
Are you going to press charges to have taz put to sleep

redcagepatrol
08-29-2005, 11:47 AM
that seems slightly harsh. We did elect to leave the dogs in the same room together when we went to eat dinner... I found out this weekend that Taz also made RJ's dog get stiches. Taz also bit Jeremys kid...

I think they shoud condider getting rid of the dog especially since they plan on having kids pretty soon. I wouldn't even consider having the dog in the same room as a baby...

jerryg79

Who's dog is taz?

At least in Houston, you cant really do anything for a dog biting another dog as far as "pressing charges", even though i'm sure conlee is joking. The dog also gets three strikes for biting people if you press charges and has to get a tatoo to show that he has bit someone.

redcagepatrol
08-29-2005, 12:03 PM
the dogs get a tattoo - kind of like the guys with tears tattooed on their eyes?

Taz is Greg and Rose's new dog that they brought back from Indonesia

In other news, I left the Garage open last night and found a Bassett Hound in it this morning. We called the number and the very happy owner called back a few hours ago. He had been missing since last night. Name was Maverick

and I haven't always "played well with others" either :D
