Nathan Pea****, the new pres of TX4WD is willing to host a group of us before their normal meeting on Sunday the 25th. Who is interested? I am thinking meet out there mid-morning, Sunday, say 10am.

Coop, perhaps this could be an official trip? If so, we would need to get some numbers together for Nathan so he would know if we need additional Trail leaders.

BTW, I am excited about their change in management and see a real future in BVORR and the relationship between the two clubs. I am planning on staying and meeting some of their members that afternoon. Their little get together (not sure if it is an acutal meeting) starts at 2.

Edit: that's hilarious that it bleeped his last name...

we normally dont do trips on home game weekends since people usually have plans or have family it town.

this is what we had planned unless people dont want to

Cool, we'll just keep this one small - experienced folks only. I think only Nathan is going so it needs to be a small group anyway.

Everyone that can, plan on going on the official trip on the 9th, as Coop mentioned. I am going to try & go to that one too, though it's the week before Clayton, so I may be a bit timid so I don't break anything last minute.

well if he's trying to limit the # of people that are going since we'll only have 1 trail leader, im not going to take my toycar out there just to park it every other obstacle and watch people climb it then take the bypass

i went this past sunday and did most stuff in my truck, but ended up riding with junior on the more difficult shat

Good call and I appreciate your understanding. In retrospect, I probably shouldn't have even posted this, after talking to coop & re-reading Nathan's email about him being the only leader out there, I realized we need to minimize this trip. Sorry about that. The following weekend would be much better for a big group. Speaking of which, we need to start a thread on that - Coop?

Yea, the jeeps used in japan were run off ships into the water because we didn't want to leave jeeps with the bad guys. They later drug some of those out to design the FJ. Many of our old battleships were sold to japan for scrap.

I haven't checked why my ARB pump quit yet, but suspect it is a fuse, as usual. Also blew an air hose up front. i must say ive never wheeled in a four banger before. i dont know if its this or the lack of a front locker, but riding with eric has a way fun pucker factor. i now know why its called the "pogo truck". he uses axle wrap to his advantage.

just wait'll I get a locker and I can crawl more
I love wheeling with you guys, great group!

I don't think it is either, the four cylinder or the lack of a front locker, its just an aquired driving style.

I don't know who influenced who more, but every time Eric and I wheel together we wheel more alike. I wish I could have been there, it would have been fun to flog on the jeep, and maybe even let the sheetmetal hug some trees

yall were getting back awefully late tonight, what was the deal?
i would loved to have gone, but i found some poor sucker from zachary engineering to take a bunch of us out to the chicken and the fox

Left the park @ Dark then went to Chicken Oil for some grub.

yeah, we're definitely bad influences on each other, but you and Mario have taught me a lot about the skinny pedal

did any of you guys run any of the trails we made a couple of weekends ago? where nathan rolled on his side.

uglyota
09-26-2005, 10:39 AM
yeah the first two trails we did were ones you guys cut. They were sick! The pic of Scotti on his side is on the first one, now temporarily impassable cuz a cable is sticking up through the entrance. I should have some pics tonight of the other one too. Did you guys cut that one that goes through the narrow creekbank with a steep entrance and exit? Jason said he got a vid of me on that one

we made two trails in two different small creek beds. both were right by a road. i remember that cable wasn't much of it showing at first.

what I hate is the pics of this place never really do it justice. From the pics you would never really know that everyone at the bottom thought he was gonna roll it about 2 seconds later

How was it taken? I mean it was almost completely dark when we were doing that, and yet you can see the trees in the distance and everything. Almost like night vision or something
